Strengths

Strengths
• Deals high damage using AoE attacks.
• Has very good skill synergies and combos.
• Has amazing Crowd Control (CC) abilities.
• Has amazing mobility skills like Teleport.

The Wizard is a ranged combatant that makes use of different skill synergies to deal high amounts of damage to multiple enemies. In PvE and PvP, Wizards are known for their tactical use of crowd control and damaging spells that reward good positioning and ability chaining.

Given that Wizards tend to play around with their skill cooldowns and available energy, this class will be suitable for players who approach battles strategically. Instead of high octane, hack-and-slash gameplay, the Wizard prioritizes skill synergy and positioning above all else.

Weaknesses

Weaknesses
• Gameplay revolves around long skill cooldowns.
• Relies on skill combos and skill shots to be effective.
• Possesses low health; requires good positioning during fights.
• Lack of ally buffs when playing with a group.

Despite its high DPS, the Wizard is difficult to master as it relies heavily on knowing the effects of multi-state spells. Couple this with the fact that most of the abilities are skill shots and you're left with a highly technical class that is difficult to use without spamming abilities.

Players who want to use the Wizard should keep in mind that you will be playing around with your skill cooldowns, often kiting enemies until you have your spells charged and ready. Without any good buffs for group play, Wizards are only prized if they can manage their skill synergies well.

Wizard Stat Priority

Wizard Stat Priorities

Wizard Stat Priority
IntelligenceFortitudeVitalityWillpower
Intelligence This is the primary stat of the Wizard. It gives the highest boost to Damage and Combat Rating when increased.
Fortitude Raises Armor and Armor Penetration. More of both bonuses will benefit the Wizard as it increases both your survivability and damage output.
Vitality Raises your max Life. This stat is essential as the Wizard has low health. Increases your chances of survival by investing in this stat.
Willpower Raises Potency and Resistance. This may be effective to increase if you rely on the slows/burns induced by the Wizard's different spells.
Strength Worst stat to increase as a Wizard as it provides the lowest combat rating bonus. Do not waste any points on this stat while leveling this class.

The Wizard primarily scales with Intelligence, giving players the most bonuses for both combat rating and damage with each additional point. Pair this with Fortitude to actively boost the damage output of your skills as you level up.

Vitality will be an integral part of the Wizard's stat distribution. More Life will always be welcome, especially in situations where you are caught with bad positioning. However, do note that gems and equipment also increase your Life, so investing in Fortitude first will be the way to go while leveling.

Wizard Paragon Point Priorities

As with most classes, it is best to go for more Damage and Life when spending Paragon Points. The Vanquisher tree has a lot of options for both Damage and Life, making it a good early investment if you're still unsure about which tree is best for your build.

Secondary choices can come in the form of increased Armor Penetration or Potency to amp up the effectiveness of your skills. For survivability, go for increased Armor or Resistance depending on how good you are when dodging or kiting enemy attacks.

How to Play Wizard

Combo Skills to Deal Massive Damage

Diablo Immortal - Wizard Skill Combos

To become an effective Wizard, you will need to learn which abilities combo and which do not. For example, using simple combos like Black Hole into Meteor will always be better than whittling down enemies with just your Ray of Frost.

Being effective with your DPS will always be key as most of the Wizard's skills suffer from long cooldown times. Keep in mind that spamming abilities will be a no go if you want to clear endgame content quickly and easily.

Kite Enemies or Use Reposition Abilities

Diablo Immortal - Wizard Teleport

With the Wizard being fragile as it is, the playstyle warrants extensive usage of kiting and repositioning skills like Teleport or Slow Time (when desperate), especially when soloing high-level Challenge and Elder Rifts. Make use of good positioning, and keep your distance from your enemies to avoid getting mobbed and dying.

Play Around Cooldowns

In PvP, always remember to play around with your cooldowns. Enemy players can heal and retreat, so hitting those deadly combos that deal the knockout punch in one go will always be better given the Wizard's playstyle.

If you find yourself in PvE levels or dungeons with much harder enemies, kiting and playing around with skill cooldowns will be the play to survive. Keep mobile and wait for your skills to charge if you find yourself under-leveled during encounters.
