How to Awaken Legendaries

Upgrade a Legendary Gem to Rank 10

Diablo Immortal - Legendary Gems

The first thing you should do to Awaken a Legendary item is upgrade a Legendary Gem to Rank 10.

Upgrading a Legendary Gem to Rank 10 requires obtaining a lot of other Legendary Gems, converting them into Gem Fragments, and using the fragments as upgrade materials.

This process is the most difficult part of Awakening a Legendary item, so it should be the first one you complete before moving on to the next steps.

Socket Into A Legendary Item

The next step is to socket that Legendary Gem into a Legendary item.

You can do this by placing the Legendary Gem into the item from the Inventory or by visiting the Jeweler and managing your Legendary Gems there.

Obtain A Dawning Echo

The last prerequisite for Awakening a Legendary item is obtaining a Dawning Echo.

This item is necessary for Awakening to happen, and it can only be obtained through the Materials tab in the in-game Shop for 1000 Eternal Orbs.

Visit the Master Jeweler

After you obtain every necessary item for Awakening, you can visit the Master Jeweler in Westmarch to Awaken the Legendary item of your choice.

What is Resonance?

Increases Equipment Base Attributes

Before Legendary Gem After Legendary Gem

All equipment you find has Base Attributes, which contribute to Damage and Life. Resonance, which comes from Legendary Gems, increases these attributes, so the higher your Resonance number, the better your Base Attributes will be. Resonance has a cumulative effect on equipment attributes, so raising your Resonance will improve all of your equipment (and not just the equipment socketed with Legendary Gems).

Upgrade Legendary Gems to Improve Resonance

There is only one way to increase Resonance: you must upgrade and equip Legendary Gems in order to improve your Resonance number. Each time you upgrade a Legendary Gem, it will provide additional Resonance. How much Resonance you get depends on the rarity and rank of the Legendary Gem. For example, a 1-Star Legendary Gem at Rank 1 provides 15 Resonance, a 1-Star Legendary Gem at Rank 2 provides 30 Resonance, a 2-Star Legendary Gem at Rank 1 provides 30 Resonance, and so on.

Awakening Legendary Items Gives Resonance

Awakening Legendary equipment can be done once you've leveled up any Legendary Gem to Rank 10. Visit Vic, the Master Jeweler in Westmarch with a Rank 10 Legendary Gem socketed into the Legendary equipment you want to Awaken and a Dawning Echo. Select Awaken to use up the Dawning Echo and Awaken your Legendary equipment.

The perks of Awakening Legendary equipment are as follows: It improves its Attributes and Legendary abilities, provides a new Awakened Power to the item, and provides additional Resonance. On top of all this, the item's appearance will change as the item continues to be upgraded.

Improve Resonance with More Legendary Gems

Diablo Immortal - Resonance Gems

Gem Resonance works by allowing you to add more Legendary Gems into your Awakened items. That's right, you can socket Gems with more Gems!

Depending on the Rank of these Legendary Gems, they provide increasing Base Attribute Bonuses to your Awakened items.

Each Legendary Gem in Diablo Immortal also has varying Resonance Bonuses, so keep an eye out for which ones benefit your character the most.

Higher Resonance Gives Improved Appearance

At high enough Resonance Levels, your Awakened Legendary gear will also gain unique progressing cosmetic effects.

Each Awakened Legendary item has distinct visual effects when Resonated, such as glowing armor pieces and even cosmetic wings for your character.

What is Awakening?

Improves Your Legendary Item Effects

In Diablo Immortal, Awakening is a process that allows you to enhance the unique effects and visual appearance of your Legendary items to make them look and feel more powerful.

Legendary items in all six primary gear slots can be Awakened, allowing you to have a maximum of six Awakened effects in total.

Awakening provides Legendary items with bonuses such as reduced cooldowns, improved damage, and increased minion health, so it is always beneficial to do so.

Unlocks Legendary Gem Resonance

Awakening your Legendary items also unlocks Resonance, allowing you to boost their power through additional Legendary Gems.

Resonance allows you to add more Legendary Gems into your primary gear slots to increase the attribute bonuses the Awakened items provide.

A high enough Resonance Level will also provide your character with cosmetic changes to your Legendary gear.
