The Icon of Souls can be found in the Tomb of Fahir in the Shassar Sea area, and can be first encountered through the Main Quest Fahir's Legacy.

How to Beat Icon of Souls

Attack From the Corners Ignore the Mob

Attack From the Corners

The area that the Icon of Souls can be encountered in is a linear area where the Icon can be found at the head (far right side). This means that there is no way to reach the Icon's flanks apart from the corners.

Throughout the fight, it is best to fight it from the corners rather than attack it head on due to its ability to attack you with a beam that can hone in on you.

Ignore the Mob

From time to time, the Icon will be able to summon a Mob of Skeletons to attack you from behind. While the smart option would be to simply deal with them, they can safely be ignored so long as you take two to thee of them down to minimize the amount of damage they can do to you. Otherwise, focus all attacks on the Icon.

Icon of Souls Attack Patterns

Beam Attack

The Icon's most common means of attack (and also it's primary attack) is when it shoots out a powerful beam towards you. This beam will move in whichever direction you move in, which is one of the reasons why it is best to deal your damage against the Icon from the sides so as to minimize the amount of damage it can deal against you.

Exploding Coffins

Usually done after attacking you with a Beam Attack, the Icon will cause several upright coffins to appear around itself. These coffins will then glow blue with a blue circle appearing beneath each circle, representing the area of effect it brings.

These coffins will then explode, which can both damage and knock you back. Skeletons will appear after this explosion to cause you even more damage. Simply move out of the way of these coffins and wait until they explode to steer clear of their effects.
