Strengths

Strengths
• Has many abilities with short cooldowns.
• Has a lot of mobility skills in their arsenal.
• Provides buffs and shields for group play.

The Monk is a melee support and AoE DPS class that excels in group play. Equipped with a myriad of party buffs and damage-absorbing shields, the highly mobile Monk can provide good damage and support in the thick of battle.

However, first-time players of Diablo may find the Monk's solo playstyle a bit restricting as it usually only shines in co-op. Pick this class up if you plan to frequently participate in Diablo Immortal's multiplayer content.

Weaknesses

Weaknesses
• Relies heavily on their combos.
• Low Health; needs to play around with mobility skills.
• Low single target damage; low damage against bosses.

While the Monk does have a lot of advantages when playing in co-op, solo play can be a bit tedious as it requires constant button inputs for skills and primary attacks. Being heavily combo reliant, Monks will have to know their builds inside and out to survive the game's much harder content.

Monk Stat Priority

Monk Stat Priorities

Monk Stat Priority
StrengthFortitude or VitalityWillpower
Strength This is the primary stat of the Monk. It gives the highest boost to Damage and Combat Rating when increased.
Fortitude Raises Armor and Armor Penetration.
Vitality Raises your max Life.
Willpower Raises Potency and Resistance.
Intelligence Worst stat to increase as a Monk as it provides the lowest combat rating bonus. Do not waste any points on this stat while leveling this class.

The Monk primarily scales with Strength, giving players the most bonuses for both combat rating and damage with each additional point. Pair this with either Fortitude or Vitality if you need more damage or defense, respectively.

Do note that Vitality will be important for late-game PvE and PvP as most enemies will be able to burst you. If you have a considerable amount of damage output already, consider increasing Vitality to maximize your chances of survival.

Monk Paragon Point Priorities

As with most classes, it is best to go for more Damage and Life when spending Paragon Points. The Vanquisher tree has a lot of options for both Damage and Life, making it a good early investment if you're still unsure about which tree is best for your build.

As a secondary choice, players can invest in Armor Penetration to deal more damage to the Monk's enemies. For survivability, go for increased Armor or Resistance depending on your equipment's bonuses.

How to Play Monk

Pull Enemies Into Melee Range

Diablo Immortal - Monk Crowd Control

When playing solo content and facing off against multiple enemies, the Monk's opening move will usually be the Cyclone Strike skill. When charged and cast, enemies are pulled towards the monk, stacking them on top of each other and leaving them vulnerable to your AoE attacks.

This skill shines when tackling Rift content. Start by running around the dungeon, drawing aggro until a sizeable mob train is following you. Once ready, charge up Cyclone Strike to pull enemies into melee range.

Use AoE Attacks to Burst Pulled Enemies

Diablo Immortal - Monk AoE Attack

In conjunction with Cyclone Strike, Monks make use of the many AoE attacks available to them once they have enemies pulled to them. Exploding Palm and Seven-Sided Strike are particularly good for bursting down monster mobs.

Grant Buffs and Shields in Co-Op

In co-op, Monks can grant buffs and shields to their allies as they tackle challenging content. For boss battles held inside special arenas, Inner Sanctuary will work as the play area will be small and stationary. When running Rifts or similar content, dynamic buffs that follow the player such as Shield of Zen will be preferable.
