Monk Build Profile

Build Strengths and Weaknesses

This build is focused on eliminating as many enemies as possible in an instant. Although the Monk has moderate damage output on its own, the combination of its skills make it a class that is highly effective in general PvE combat.

The Monk is slightly lacking in the damage department, since it is half a DPS class and half a support class, having the best of both worlds but not excelling in either. The Monk has lower HP for a melee class, as well, making this class a bit more difficult to use more effectively.

From Mobility to Defense

Flying Kick can get you out of tight spots, although it quickly becomes less useful the more skills you unlock. You can replace this skill with Mystic Strike, and then finally Shield of Zen to give you that extra defense the Monk sorely needs.

Gather and Decimate

Exploding Palm is a necessary skill to have when fighting hordes of enemies, since your damage-dealing potential increases the more enemies surround you. Using Cyclone Strike to group enemies together before using Exploding Palm, and then following up with Seven-Sided Strike is the bread and butter of this build, as it is capable of eliminating an entire mob of enemies in a single instant..

Aim for Gear That Improves Your Best Skills

Aim for Legendary gear that will help boost both Cyclone Strike and Seven-Sided Strike, making them even more lethal against hordes of enemies.

Gem Priority

Ca'arsen's Invigoration ★	Increases the speed of your Primary Attack by 6%.
Chained Death ★	Increases damage done by your attacks by 1.50% per target hit, up to a maximum of 4.5% with 3 targets.
Seled's Weakening ★	Gain 6.00% increased damage for 60 seconds after killing an Elite monster.
Power and Command ★★	Power and Command alternates states every 9 seconds. Power increases your Primary Attack damage by 8%. Command increases all other skill damage by 8%.
The Hunger ★★	Heal 40% base damage +567 Life each time you defeat an enemy. Cannot occure more often than once every 20 seconds.
Fervent Fang ★★	Each time you deal damage to an enemy, that enemy now takes 0.80% increased from your attacks, up to a maximum increase of 8% at 10 stacks.

As the Monk has relatively low HP for a melee class, it is advised to aim for The Hunger, which will give you a bit more survivability. The rest of your Gems should boost your attack power, turning the Monk into a devastating force on the battlefield.

Aim to complete the main story quests as fast as possible, as these quests grant huge XP rewards and are your ticket to getting to the endgame.

Complete Daily Activities

Alongside the main story quest, try to finish all daily activities, as they usually grant you XP rewards along with materials that help you upgrade your gear. These activities can be found in the Battle Pass menu, and include the following:

• Dungeons
• Bestiary
• Helliquary
• Side Quests

Completing these activities gives you great rewards and materials for becoming stronger. Purchasing the Empowered Battle Pass will add to the amount of rewards you receive, giving you a steady source of Legendary Gems, which are vital to improving your build.

Things to Do Daily

Enter Hidden Lairs

Hidden Lairs spawn randomly around every zone. If you happen to find one of these, enter it immediately or else it'll be taken by someone else. These Hidden Lairs reward you with XP as well as Normal Gems, which you can slot into your secondary gear.
