Path of Exile 2 Story Plot
Set years after the original Path of Exile, you’re tasked with returning to the dark world of Wraeclast to combat the spreading corruption. Embark on a grand adventure across the perilous continent, encountering various creatures and confronting evil in numerous forms along the way.
Path of Exile 2 Gameplay
Much like its predecessor, Path of Exile 2 continues the top-down action RPG gameplay similar to games like Diablo. However, the sequel expands on every aspect, featuring 12 classes instead of just 7. Here are the ones revealed so far:

The skill system in this game has been vastly improved with a new Skill Gem system, featuring over 240 Skill Gems that offer a diverse range of active skills, complemented by 200 Support Gems that modify their functions.
The game also boasts an in-depth equipment system with hundreds of equipment base types to uncover, each with a wide range of magical modifiers.
With a pool of 1500 skills to unlock, players can shape their Passive Skill Tree according to their preferences. Additionally, there are 700 unique equipment bases, including weapons, to help you confront hundreds of distinctive bosses.
The endgame feature returns in Path of Exile 2. After completing the six-act campaign, players will gain access to an endgame that includes 100 maps with unique boss fights.
Players can also enjoy crossplay, allowing them to team up with friends across different platforms. Additionally, couch co-op is available, provided each player has their own Path of Exile account. Cross-progression ensures that players can save their progress and return without any worries.

The Path of Exile 2 - Console Announcement Trailer begins with a cinematic of a Warrior forging his weapon in the Blacksmith area, interspersed with glimpses of new areas and scenes of his village under attack. As he fights off enemies, we also see gameplay featuring other characters, such as a Ranger and a Bear, using their skills and abilities to battle creatures.
The trailer showcases couch co-op, with two players fighting a boss named the Iron Count, and highlights other bosses like the Perennial King. Cross-play gameplay is demonstrated in various new environments, including what appears to be a jungle area.
