The Chat Box is one of Diablo Immortal's most important social features and thus cannot be hidden in the traditional sense from the game screen. Read on to learn more about the alternatives to hiding the chat box and how you can enjoy a less intrusive version of the system!
List of Contents
Unfortunately, "hiding" the Chat Box in the traditional sense (i.e. tapping on it to make it hidden) cannot be done in Diablo Immortal. As long as a player is in a game session, the Chat Box will always be present for them to supply the player with peer-written messages.
There are, however, several alternatives that can make the Chat Box seem less intrusive and even not appear entirely.
The Chat Box on mobile platforms occupies a large portion of a player's screen, sometimes obstructing important figures in the game world from view and making seeing things rather difficult. One way of preventing this kind of disruption to gameplay is by simply minimizing the size of the Chat Box to more manageable levels.
Although this allows the player to make the Chat Box seem less intrusive, they will still be able to see any messages that pop up in the menu.

1 | On mobile, look to the top of the Chat Box and search for a small triangle |
2 | Tap and hold the arrow down – drag it up or down to increase or decrease the size of the Chat Box respectively |
A method that applies to all platforms, and the most effective method of them all, is by deactivating chat channels that will be displayed on the Chat Box.
This method is one good way to ensure that players do not see any messages in the Chat Box, although any previously received messages before disabling the channels will remain on-screen – this can be fixed with a quick restart of the game.

1 | Head to the Settings Menu |
2 | Open the Chat Menu |
3 | Under Channels in Chat Preview, disable all the activated channels |
In lieu of relying on text to get messages out, particularly if they're intended for Party/ Clan/ Warband members, players can instead opt to use voice chat methods to communicate with their team instead.
Voice Chatting is a faster and more reliable method of getting accurate messages across to teammates without having to sacrifice time to dedicate to typing.
