How to Beat Skarn: Boss Guide and Location

Skarn can be found through a Portal that leads to his Hidden Chambers in the Realm of Damnation during the Lord of Damnation Quest. Before being able to enter his chambers, players will have to assist Verathiel and the other Angels.

Pace Your Healing Make Use of Traps Avoid Projectiles

Pace Your Healing

Due to the limited amount of Healing Potions that you have with you, burning through them quickly is not a good option that must be avoided at all costs. Try to avoid as much damage as possible, as most of Skarn's attacks are telegraphed early and can be dodged easily.

Lastly, don't start using your potions until you've taken out at least a third of Skarn's health to ensure that you at least have one potion left near the end of the fight.

Make Use of Traps

Although Skarn himself does not quite walk around all that much to chase you around in the fight area, having any Trap-based Skill in your arsenal can be useful for the sections of the fight where Skarn will send "Deceiving Visions" at you as a form of "Mob" that you'll have to fight through to progress through the Boss Fight.

Avoid Projectiles

Another form of "Mob" that you'll have to avoid taking hits from are the Slagspitters he summons to hurl projectiles at you. The Slagspitters themselves can be ignored, but their projectiles need to be avoided as they can deal significant damage to you.

Other than that, focus all your attacks against Skarn himself to rapidly deplete his HP bar.

Skarn Attack Patterns

Concentrated Beam

Apart from his regular melee attacks against you, Skarn will perform his signature move where he sends a focused beam towards you and moves based on how you move yourself to avoid the attack.

Getting hit by this attack can either severely deplete your HP by thousands, or simply knock you out with one hit. To avoid this attack, simply stay close to Skarn's body and move in either a counter-clockwise or clockwise direction.

Deceiving Visions

Not an attack, but a summoning performed by Skarn (twice or thrice throughout the entire fight) will see several "Visions" of the different character classes that will fight against you. Taking care of these visions is relatively easy, although they can take chunks off of your HP bar if they manage to crowd you.

Keep moving and focus on one at a time until all the visions are vanquished.

Duplicate Skarns

Skarn's final attack that can be devastating is his ability to create duplicate copies of himself – four copies of Skarn will be created, with each capable of shooting projectiles at you from afar. These copies can also perform the "Concentrated Beam" attack against you, sometimes simultaneously.

To defeat this instance of Skarn's attack, find the copy with a red circle beneath its feet – attack this copy until it dies to bring back the "real" Skarn to the field.
