Much like the older games in the franchise, Diablo Immortal features different levels of difficulty. Read on to find out how to change difficulty settings in-game, how to change dungeon difficulty, and the Combat Rating required for each level of difficulty.
List of Contents
To change the current game difficulty, select your minimap to open up the Map.
Afterwards, select the skull-shaped button on the top-right corner of the Map screen. This opens up the Select Game Difficulty screen where you can choose your preferred difficulty.
The next time you leave the city of Westmarch, the new difficulty you chose will reflect in the monsters you fight and the loot you obtain.
Note that you can only change difficulties in Westmarch after hitting the max Character Level of 60.
Before then, you will have to progress through the game in Normal.
By changing the game's difficulty, all the features in the game that involves difficulties will be affected. This includes Rifts, Dungeons, and even the World Map zones!
Difficulty | Description |
---|---|
Normal | ・Drops equipment for Character Levels 1 to 60 ・Standard difficulty setting for Diablo Immortal |
Hell I | ・Drops equipment for Paragon Level 0 to 60 ・Dungeons drop Set items and require a party of 2 ・Requires a minimum of 520 Combat Rating. |
Hell II | ・Drops equipment for Paragon Level 30 to 130 ・Dungeons drop Set items and require a party of 4 ・Requires a minimum of 1220 Combat Rating. |
Hell III | ・Drops equipment for Paragon Level 90 to 210 ・Dungeons drop Set items and require a party of 4 ・Requires a minimum of 2120 Combat Rating. |
Hell IV | ・Drops equipment for Paragon Level 160 to 300 ・Dungeons drop Set items and require a party of 4 ・Requires a minimum of 3250 Combat Rating. |
Hell V | ・Drops equipment for Paragon Level 240 to 600 ・Dungeons drop Set items and require a party of 4 ・Requires a minimum of 5025 Combat Rating. |
As of now, these five hell difficulties along with normal are the only known difficulty settings for Diablo Immortal.
Increasing your difficulty means that you get to face stronger enemies in the world of Diablo Immortal.
Enemy damage and defenses all scale according to the difficulty setting you choose, making it important to constantly make sure that you set yourself in a difficulty setting appropriate to your Character or Paragon Level.
In addition, much like in Diablo III, Elite mobs gain a growing list of modifiers as you climb up in difficulty, so prepare your character accordingly. For a guide on enemy difficulty ,refer to the combat rating requirement on each difficulty on the list above.
Increasing your difficulty setting also has its positives, as doing so improves the amount of gold, loot, and experience you obtain.
Additionally, rare and sought-after Set items can only drop from Hell I and higher, so make sure you're in the correct difficulty setting before farming for them.
By setting your game difficulty to Hell 1 and higher, Dungeons will start dropping secondary set equipment. The set items you can obtain also varies by Dungeons so farming set equipment is a good start for your Hell 1 journey!
