The Global Community Lead of the Diablo Immortal team recently addressed whether the game had facial recognition. Read on to see his response, whether the game can currently recognize faces, and what the feature would have been like.

Does Diablo Immortal Have Facial Recognition?

There is No Facial Recognition

After recent concerns that Diablo Immortal contained the ability to recognize facial features, Adam Fletcher, the Global Community Lead at Blizzard, responded on twitter. In short, he stated that there are no facial recognition features currently in the game.

Characters Would Have Been Able to Mimic Players

He said that the team wanted to implement a feature that would mimic the player's facial expressions and map them onto the game character, but that the team wasn't satisfied with feature, so it was scrapped. This leaves room for the possibility of a similar feature in the future, though no plans for this have been announced.
