Easy-To-Use Firestorm Setup

Unlike the Firestorm Dungeon Build, this amazing PvE setup deals more damage while boasting an easy-to-aim Firestorm combo. By swapping out Devastation for Windshaper, the once skillshot-reliant combo gets buffed with an Arcane Wind twister that tracks enemies for you while dealing multiple instances of damage.

Legendary Gear Makes it Easier to Deal AoE Damage

The core of this build is the Windshaper main hand weapon as it modifies Arcane Wind into a damaging twister that follows enemies around for a period of time. Instead of being limited by directional inputs, the original Firestorm build is now allowed to cover a larger AoE while dealing multiple instances of damage in the process.

Unlike other endgame builds, this simple setup only needs 3 legendary items to function properly from the get-go: the Windshaper, the Starcaller's Breeches, and the Unrepentant Gale.

Set Items Keep the Build Mobile

Windloft Perfection is what will carry this build at higher difficulties. On top of granting increased mobility via move speed bonuses, it also grants more damage (tied to move speed) and generates a 5-hit absorbing shield once you get the 6-piece set bonus. Increase your survivability by farming and equipping this quality set.

Legendary Gems Boost All Damage Types

With the easier damage setup, a few of your gem slots will be freed up to buff your primary attack damage. Not only does this help with your single-target damage problem, it also allows you to easily transition into a Firestorm PvP build for the Wizard.

Take note of the damage buffs for the listed gems. Only Power & Command will directly affect Skill and Primary Attack damage. The rest of the attack buff gems will increase damage of all your attacks, making it a flat damage increase across the board rather than splitting priorities between attack types.

Stats and Paragon Priorities

Attribute Priorities

Intelligence Intelligence is the primary stat for Wizards. Prioritize this when equipping legendary and set armor as it gives the most Damage and Combat Rating returns out of all the stats.
Critical Hit Chance Crit Hit Chance is integral to this build, as the multiple instances of damage dealt by Arcane Wind will benefit from more crits rather than increased damage.
Critical Hit Damage If you can, equip items with magic properties that boost your Critical Hit Damage once you have enough Critical Hit Chance stats. Reroll equipment bonuses under the Wildfire Family if you need more Crit Damage.
Fortitude Since damage this build requires both damage and survivability, Fortitude is better than splitting priorities between Armor and Armor Penetration.
Vitality Vitality is always good. With how low HP most Wizard builds are, Vitality will be good to increase when getting exceptional items that grant 3 different stat bonuses.

Paragon Priorities

Vanquisher > Treasure Hunter > Soldier or Gladiator

Early game Paragon Points will be pumped into damage. Take the Vanquisher tree and spend points to get both Zeal and Judgment for more damage and guaranteed crits. At Paragon 50, spend point in Treasure Hunter to get the increased magic find bonuses before re-investing into Vanquisher to get Exorcism and Wrath.

At higher Paragon levels, consider your role transition. For group play PvE, invest in Soldier as higher difficulties will demand more cooperation. However, if you decide to pivot into PvP territory, Gladiator will be the way to go.

How to Play

Draw Enemy Aggro and Form a Train

For all types of PvE content, you will be playing around your 2 Arcane Wind charges granted by Unrepentant Gale. When taking on Challenge Rifts, make sure to always draw aggro and build an enemy train behind you during exploration. Not only will this allow for more efficient clears, it's also good practice if you want to keep kill chains going during other PvE content like Elder Rifts or Dungeons.

Cast Meteor to Inflict Burn DoT

To start the combo, cast Meteor on the large group of enemies following you. Due to the effects of both Starcaller's Drapery and Starcaller's Breeches, the Meteor's AoE will be much larger. This keeps the Burn debuff going for a longer time, allowing you to proc multiple instances of Firestorm with a single cast.

Cast Arcane Wind to Proc Multiple Firestorm Hits

When enemies are sufficiently on fire, cast Arcane Wind and watch as it procs multiple instances of Firestorm. If enemies were grouped up properly, this skill will absolutely melt them, all while using up only 1 Arcane Wind charge.

Buy Space using Scorch and Arcane Wind

If you find yourself getting mobbed, buy a bit of space by busting out Scorch and Arcane Wind. The knockback of the latter should give you enough room to escape sticky situations, especially if you had Teleport on cooldown.

Alternatively, this combo can also be used if you do not encounter elite mobs often enough in Challenge Rifts. If only normal monsters keep appearing, use Scorch and Arcane Wind along narrow paths to quickly deal with medium-sized trains of enemies.

Use Teleport to Keep Kill Chains Going

In Elder Rifts or Dungeons, you can use Teleport to be more aggressive. With Lyan's Resonant Wisdom inflicting damage after landing in your new location, Teleport transforms into an offensive skill that can keep kill chains going for more XP.
