The event occurs every day and is only limited by your personal progress in filling up the Corruption meter.
In addition, traveling to Dark Wood provides an event tab pinned to your Quest Log, which you can use to Auto Navigate to exact event locations.
Objective | |
---|---|
1 | Kill Monsters in Dark Wood |
2 | Visit the Tree of Inifuss |
3 | Defeat Your Shadow Clone |
While the Purify the Corruption event is active, defeating monsters in Dark Wood increases your Corruption bar, which also increases the damage you take.
This meter needs to be filled to 100%, so kill as many monsters as you can to progress the event.
To speed up event progression, defeat the Blood Rose whenever it spawns in Dark Wood.
Killing this boss speeds up event progression as it contributes 28% Corruption to your Corruption bar. In addition, the Blood Rose also drops the Nor Tiraj's Knowledge Horadric Vessel.
Because the Blood Rose is a World Boss, make sure to party up and prepare your best gear to take it down.
The Blood Rose spawns in its lair at the east of Blood Rose Waypoint. Note that the boss spawn has a 20 minute cooldown after its previous death, so make sure it's active before you visit the area.
Once you've filled up your Corruption bar to 100%, make your way to the Tree of Inifuss to purify the corruption.
The Tree of Inifuss can be found directly northwest of the Tree of Inifuss Waypoint.
Purifying yourself turns the corruption you've gained into a Shadow Clone, which you must defeat to complete the event. This Shadow Clone needs to be defeated within 90 seconds or else the event will fail.
Defeating the Shadow Clone rewards you with random quality gear and a Glowing Shard, making it a consistent way to get crafting materials for upgrading Legendary gear.
