How to Complete the Bestiary

Diablo Immortal - How to Level Up Bestiary
The Bestiary can give you bonuses to your Life and Damage by unlocking its entries. These entries contain lore for each of the monsters in Diablo Immortal. Read on to learn how to level up the Bestiary, where to find it, and what other rewards it gives you.

How to Complete Bestiary

Gather Monstrous Essence

Diablo Immortal - Defeat Monsters

To fill the pages of the Horadric Bestiary, you have to start killing monsters on the field (Rifts and Dungeons don't count) to collect Monstrous Essences. Once you have acquired 10 Monstrous Essence, return to the Bestiary on any of the safe zones. Doing this unlocks a random Bestiary entry, making your Bestiary level go up, and rewarding you with Gold and equipment of various rarities.

Things to Remember

  • You can only have 10 Monstrous Essence in your inventory, so make sure to head straight to the Bestiary once you've gotten 10.
  • You can level up the Bestiary three times in a day, making that 30 Monstrous Essence you have to collect in a day.
  • You can gain Monstrous Essence by doing Battle Pass activities, but not from Elder Rifts, Challenge Rifts, and Dungeons.

How to Farm Monstrous Essence

Complete Battle Pass Activities

Engaging in the game's Battle Pass activities allows you to hit two birds with one stone by leveling up your Battle Pass alongside farming Monstrous Essence. Search the Bounty Board and complete bounties to gain rewards as well as Monstrous Essence from killing enemies.

Heading out into the world's zones and engaging in their specific Zone Events is also a good way to gain more Monstrous Essence.

Battle Pass: Rewards and How to Buy

Receive Gold for Duplicate Entries

Bestiary pages are unlocked randomly, so there is a chance you may get a page you've already unlocked. When this happens, you will be rewarded sums of Gold instead! The amount of Gold will vary on the rarity of monster you unlock.

Where to Find the Bestiary

Initially in Dark Wood

World Map View Overworld Location

The Bestiary is initially unlocked after completing the The Horadric Bestiary quest in the main questline, which happens in the Dark Wood area. As part of the quest, you will be prompted to interact with a tome on an altar. This will open the Bestiary for the first time.
