The Hunger Legendary Gem is necessary for a Monk, as they are low in defense and are usually wanting of healing in PvE situations. This Gem is made even more necessary considering the fact that this build does not have any defensive or support skills.
Lastly, the Zod Stone Gem makes your Ultimate Skill last longer, making you able to tear into a boss or powerful Elite monsters for longer.
Lv | Skill Type |
Effect |
---|---|---|
1 |
Seven-Sided Strike
|
Dash rapidly between nearby enemies, striking 7 times for X damage per hit. Additional hits on the same target deal 50% as much damage. |
20 |
Exploding Palm
|
Attack enemies in a direction for X damage and inflict Bleeding on them for 5 seconds. Enemies that die while Bleeding will explode for Y damage to all nearby enemies. Maximum 2 charges. Enemies can only be hit 5 times within 1 second by these explosions, and starting with explosion 2 and beyond, take only 30% of normal damage. |
38 |
Inner Sanctuary
|
Place a runic circle of protection for 9.2 seconds that reduces all damage taken by you and your allies within the circle by 50%. |
50 |
Mystic Allies
|
Summon two spirit allies to fight by your side for 10 seconds. They deal X damage with each attack and have Life equal to yours. |
Exploding Palm is the most important skill for most Monk builds to have. Its explosive effects have the potential to trigger a chain reaction of explosions in enemy hordes that wipe them all out in a single instant.
Mystic Allies will always be useful in any set-up, as your Spirit Allies will be able to distract enemies as well as deal great damage. This skill can be compounded with useful cooldown reductions and duration extensions via Legendary items.
Inner Sanctuary is one of the most versatile skills in a Monk's arsenal. Depending on the Legendary item you have equipped, this skill can be a defensive buff, an offensive buff, a damage-over-time AoE spell, or a spell that Stuns or inflicts Chill.
Seven-Sided Strike on its own may be overshadowed by the Monk's other skills, but when compounded with Legendary items like Spirit's Reach, its power and duration can be vastly heightened.
Monk Class Guide: All Skills and How to Play
Equipment | Slot | Rarity | Affected Skill & Effect |
---|---|---|---|
Spirit's Reach | Main Hand | Legendary | Seven-Sided Strike: Seven-Sided Strike now places a runic circle inside which all enemies will be struck by your spirit allies. |
Respite's Sigh | Off Hand | Legendary | Inner Sanctuary: Inner Sanctuary duration increased by 30% |
Empathy's Blessing | Head | Legendary | Inner Sanctuary: Inner Sanctuary is now Blessed Sanctuary, increasing all damage done by you and your allies while within the circle. |
Rising Tide | Shoulder | Legendary | Imprisoned Fist: Imprisoned Fist now causes you to leap through the air with electricity, damaging and Immobilizing nearby enemies where you land. |
Discipline's Weight | Shoulder | Legendary | Seven-Sided Strike: Seven-Sided Strike damage increased by 10%. |
Disciplined Respite | Chest | Legendary | Inner Sanctuary: Inner Sanctuary cooldown decreased by 15% |
Chastising Radiance | Legs | Legendary | Wave of Light: Wave of Light damage increased by 10% |
Companion's Melody | Legs | Legendary | Mystic Allies: Mystic Allies duration increased by 25% |
These are the absolute best weapons and armor for Monks in the current meta! Each of these items significantly improve some of Monk's key skills and are crucial to almost every endgame build out there.
Spirit's Reach and Discipline's Weight help turn Seven-Sided Strike into the ultimate offensive skill that works well in both PvE and PvP.
Several of these items help boost Inner Sanctuary and level it up into an amazing support skill with longer duration, quicker cooldowns, and the ability to either buff defense or offense.
All Monk Weapons and Equipment
Attribute | Effect |
---|---|
Attack Speed | Increases the speed of your skills and primary attacks. |
Critical Hit Chance | Increases chance of your attacks doing a critical hit (double damage) |
Critical Hit Damage | Improves the damage of your critical strikes by a flat rate (1% critical hit damage increases our critical hit from 200% to 201%) |
Strength | Increases the damage of Barbarians, Crusaders, Demon Hunters, and Monks. Provides little benefit to the classes not mentioned. |
Vitality | Increases HP. |
Strength determines your damage output and the killing potential of your skills, so it's necessary to have this high. Upping your Critical Hit Chance and Critical Hit Damage is vital to increasing your damage as well, as crits will make enemies go down faster, which is ideal for when you've used Exploding Palm.
Vitality is less important but still very welcome, as more HP will keep you alive longer, especially for longer dungeon runs. Attack Speed would be the lowest on the list, since the Monk already has a high attack speed but a little more would see you tear through enemies a bit easier while your skills are on cooldown.
