If you chose Open Gut as your Level 5 Set Item reward and are trying to gather the Grace of the Flagellant set, go with Torn Sole. Equipping Torn Sole with Open Gut (or another set gear from Grace of the Flagellant) will give a 15% boost to damage for attacks like Whirlwind, a core skill for most Barbarian users.
The Tyrant, on the other hand, is the choice to go with for players who chose The Gaoler as their free Set Item reward. Combining these two set pieces will get you one step closer to a Cleave/Furious Charge build by buffing your loss of control skills like Screaming Fury's version of Furious Charge and all versions of Demoralize.
If you chose Open Gut for your Level 5 Set Item reward and want to get a buff to your Channeled damage via the Grace of the Flagellant 2-piece bonus, pick up Torn Sole. This set is a solid choice for players looking to make PvE builds for taking care of enemy hordes.
For PvP builds, there are two solid options: The Tyrant and Mountebank's Slyness.
You'll want to pick The Tyrant if you chose The Gaoler for your Level 5 Set Item reward, as they both belong to Feasting Baron's Pack, a set that scales well with skills that cause loss of control. Having both items equipped will get you a 2-piece bonus that increases the duration of your loss of control skills.
Gathering the Untouchable Mountebank set for PvP will aid you in survivability (but only if your build is at a point where it can deal good damage/crowd control already), so Mountebank's Slyness is a viable option if this applies to you. The 2-piece bonus for this set that grants a chance to get a temporary shield whenever you take damage.
If you're a Necromancer, your build is likely going to be the centered around your summons, so Shepherd and Leader is the choice for you, as the 2-piece, 4-piece, and 6-piece bonuses for the Shepherd's Call to Wolves set provide various buffs to summons. If you went with Shepherd and Begetter for your Level 5 Set Item reward, choose this one.
Players who chose The Gaoler for their loss-of-control PvP builds should go with The Tyrant this time around for the 2-piece Set Item bonus.
Since Wind-Trods of Shal’baas (the ideal foot gear for Demon Hunters) isn't available as a free reward, Torn Sole is a fine alternative. Combining it with Open Gut or another Grace of the Flagellant set item will grant you a buff to Channel (continuous) damage skills.
If you chose The Gaoler for your Paragon Level 5 reward, you'll want to go with The Tyrant to take advantage of the Feasting Baron’s Pack 2-piece set item bonus, giving a 30% increase in duration to loss of control skills.
Best Monk Builds
If you chose Open Gut from the Grace of the Flagellant set, picking up Torn Sole will give you an excellent 2-piece bonus for Crusaders because most of their skills do area of attack (AoE) damage with continuous damage ticks.
Gathering the Vithu's Urges set grants a 2-piece bonus great for builds that focus on Holy Banner and Conjuration of Light duration, so Beacon's Urge is also a strong option.
Once you reach level 45, you will unlock the Services tab in the shop. On the Services tab, you can find the Prodigy's Path, which offers rewards at certain levels (similar to the Battle Pass). The Adept's Prizes are free for all players, while the Prodigy's Prizes cost money.
To claim your free set waist, you first must reach Paragon level 25. After that, simply select the item under Adept's Prizes and make your choice from one of six secondary set items.
If you want your equipment to have the highest stats possible, it's better to wait until you've reached level 60 to claim equipment rewards from the Battle Pass and Prodigy's Path as their stats scale with your current level.

Weapons and equipment (including free rewards), get gradually stronger as you level up. For comparison, notice the difference in stats for Pavise of Ten Wings at an early level versus at max level. If you care about getting the best stats for your gear, try to hold off on claiming your rewards.
