List of Contents
Hilts are a valuable reward currency that enables you to buy more resources like Legendary and Rare Crests. Here are the best ways you can get more Hilts.
How to Get Hilts | |
---|---|
Activity | Hilt Reward |
---|---|
Increase Combat Rating | 50 Hilts per rank |
Complete Challenge Rifts | 100 Hilts per rank |
Upgrade Helliquary | 100 Hilts per rank |
Increase Health and Damage | 50 Hilts per rank |
Acquire Recommended Buildes | 50 Hilts per rank |
Improve Battleground Rating | 100 Hilts per rank |
The most consistent way to earn Hilts is to check your Codex frequently. In particular, you can earn Hilts by completing tasks from the Conquest and Achievements tabs. You'll accomplish many of these tasks simply by playing through the game, so the Codex is a reliable source of Hilts.
Conquests are split into World and Player vs Player tabs. Surpassing benchmarks under either tab will allow you to earn Hilts by clicking the icon.
To earn Hilts from the World tab, you need to increase your Combat Rating, complete Challenge Rifts, and upgrade your Helliquary by beating its increasingly difficult levels.
To earn Hilts from the Player vs Player tab, you need to increase your Health and Damage Attributes, acquire skills and equipment for Recommended Builds, and improve your rating in Battlegrounds by competing against other players.
By completing Achievements in your Codex, you can receive a lot of Hilts. Many of these Achievements are accomplished simply by defeating enemies and uncovering the map during the main story.

If you want to win lots of Hilts, you'll need to rank high on the Solo and Party Challenge Rift Leaderboards. Completing these Challenge Rifts is perhaps the best way to earn Hilts. Enchanted Dust to Upgrade Gear

Legendary Crests are valuable items which guarantee drops for Runes and Legendary Gems. There is a limit to purchasing 1 per month from the Hilt Trader.
This Legendary Crest is one of the few ways free to play players can acquire a Legendary Gem, so it is always worth purchasing the Legendary Crest from the Hilts Trader.
Rare Crests are a great deal at 300 Hilts and provide good value if you're planning to run Elder Rifts. Adding one or more to an Elder Rift guarantees some Runes will drop and provides a small chance to get a Legendary Gem.
While it's not always worth it to buy Normal Gems from the Hilts Trader, it can be convenient for those times when you just need one more to upgrade the level of your Gems.
There are six different normal Gems which can be socketed into your secondary gear and provide various boosts to your attributes. Tourmaline Gems provide a buff to damage, whereas Sapphire Gems will give you better armor penetration, so prioritize these two if you opt to spend Hilts on Gems.
All Gems and How to Use Them
As you upgrade your gear more and more, you'll find Enchanted Dust to be in short supply. It is a relatively farmable material, so once you've exhausted other routes, 15 Hilts a pop isn't a terrible price.
If you want better stats, you'll need to upgrade your gear at a Blacksmith, which will require Gold, Scrap and Enchanted Dust. Upgrading your gear is one of the best ways to increase your power and affects your Combat Rating.
