King Leoric appears at the end of Mad King's Breach, first encountered during the Quest Masters of Death.
|
Leoric likes to attack via direct melee hits where he'll attempt to persistently get close to you for up close hits. This is compounded by the fact that Leoric can summon mobs of enemies to fight by his side.
Take care of the regular enemies and commit Leoric's attack patterns to memory – the best time to hit him with all of your skills or attacks would be usually when he winds up for his attacks.
During your battle with Leoric, he will execute an attack where the fight area shrinks down over time. Near the bottom of this rectangular space (center-right) will be an area where Leoric will cause "winds" to slowly drain your HP.
Only the top half of this field (center-left) will be safe from this attack and is the general area that you should stay in to avoid unnecessary HP drains.
Not a strategy meant to inflict damage directly against Leoric himself, but rather, for the regular enemies that he summons. By using attacks that have a wide area of effect, you can more easily take care of these enemies without having to focus on them one by one.
An attack that Leoric performs most while on horseback, he will simply charge straight towards you, and if hit, has the ability to temporarily stun you as well as knock you back several paces.
This attack is telegraphed by a "path" that highlights the path that Leoric will charge at, allowing players time to move away and strike him from his flanks.
Commonly done on horseback once again, but also has a variant when he's on foot, Leoric will rear back and slam down on the ground. If caught in this attack, players will be temporarily stunned and vulnerable to any of Leoric's follow-up attacks.
Near the start of the fight, Leoric will create several walls that encompass the entire fight arena. These walls close in on the player, making the fight area smaller.
Leoric will cause the bottom of this small area (center-right) to be affected by winds that can continuously damage the player unless they move out of the way. It is best to fight nearer to the throne than in this area, despite it being clearer of any obstructions, to avoid the damage caused by the winds.
