While pausing cannot be done in Diablo Immortal, there are many different alternatives that players can do. Read on to learn about all the ways you can temporarily leave the game without endangering your character!

How to Pause the Game

No Pausing Available

Unfortunately, due to the online environment that players find themselves in, pausing cannot be done while in a game session. Even when opening the Settings or Messaging menus, the game will still run in the background.

This means that trying to "pause" the game while in the middle of a group of enemies will not make the player invulnerable nor will it temporarily "freeze" the game.

Alternatives to Pausing

AFK at Safe Zones

The only real method of "Pausing" a game is by entering an AFK (Away from Keyboard) state. This can be done safely in so called Safe Zones, which are hub areas that other players can congregate in to talk to townsfolk, Guards, and even Blacksmiths.

Other areas such as Waypoints can also be used as a "Safe Zone", although the safety of each will vary from Waypoint to Waypoint, depending on where it is located on the map and if it is near any enemy spawn points.
