Shadow Lottery Explained

The Shadow Lottery is one of two ways that players can join the Shadow Faction in Diablo Immortal. Read on to learn the process of the Shadow Lottery, what goals need to be accomplished, and how you can join the lottery for yourself.

How to Join the Shadow Lottery

Finish The Cycle Begins Quest

Players can only "join" the Lottery once the Quest The Cycle Begins has been accomplished and the player's character has reached Level 43.

Players will then have to conclude this quest in Westmarch, learning more about the Cycle of Strife and thus unlocking the ability to enter the Shadows. This is one of two ways to join the Shadows.

Shadows Faction Guide

Lottery Opens Only for 1 Hour

In order to join the Shadows without an Akeba's Signet Invite, players will have join the lottery in the Wolf City Tavern located in Westmarch. Talk to the Mysterious Patron to join the Lottery.

The Lottery itself will only be open between certain periods and lasts for an hour long. During a Lottery period, simply talk to the Mysterious Patron, who registers the player to the Lottery.

Get the Winning Ticket

Things from that point on simply boil down to a matter of luck. There is no guaranteed method that players can do to earn membership into the Shadows.

Players will only be able to find out if they won the Lottery or not if they receive a message in their mail entitled Shadow Lottery Winner!. This message simply congratulates the player, along with instructions on what the subsequent steps are.

How to Win the Lottery

Talk to the Mysterious Patron

After winning the Lottery, the player will be given new instructions to talk to the Mysterious Patron in the tavern once again.

There will be an option called "Shadow Mettle" when talking to him – talk to the Bartender afterwards, who will give you a scroll which lists down three objectives for you to accomplish. Head into the Court of Whispers then, which is just to the side of the Patron.

Complete the Path of Blood

In the Court of Whispers, look for Nuon, the one who will send you on your way to the first task. The task itself is relatively simple – your only objective is to defeat groups of enemies that come after you in three waves.

Impress the Master Vault Raider

After clearing the first task, search for Fyggus, the Master Vault Raider who will give you your second task. The second task is a little bit more complicated than the first – you will need to steal 25 Essentia, which drop from the enemies that you have to go through in the chamber.

There are enemies here called Wardens who will try to sound the alert – simply defeat it, and do not let it sound the alarm as you will fail if it does. Continue until you reach the end, where Fyggus will be.

Defeat Three Ancient Champions

After completing the two prior tasks, search for the Mysterious Patron once again in the Court of Whispers – he will provide you with your next task, which involves defeating three powerful Ancient Champions. Defeating the champions will give the player one Akeba's Signet, which can be used by the player to invite another player to the Shadows.

Accept the Invitation

After all the tasks have been completed, players will be greeted with an Invitation message – simply click or tap the Join option to complete the joining process for the Shadows.

Shadow Lottery Rewards

Join the Shadows Faction

Once players win the Shadow Lottery and complete the questline, players will join the Shadows Faction. Players will also be able to go inside the Court of Whispers to get rewards from activities like the Shadow War, Path of Blood, Contracts, and more.

Enter the Shadow War

Being part of the Shadows will also allow players to join the Shadow War, a week long tournement to decide the best clan in the server. Those who do well will receive rewards like Legendary Crests, Aspiarant's Keys, and more!
