Cleave Focused Rift Build

This build focuses on a fast-moving burst damage playstyle using Cleave's high initial damage and Furious Charge's disruptive ability. Coupled with the mobility from Sprint and the added loss-of-control from Demoralize, this build is great for mowing through Challenge Rifts, Elder Rifts, and Dungeons in solo and party settings.

Legendary Gear Setup

The core Legendary items of this build are Svot's Reach, Virulent Fist, and Hatred's Reach, as they are all used to modify and improve Cleave. These three items turn it from a basic conic AoE ability into a large circular AoE that explodes enemies when killed, making Cleave perfect for both large waves of mobs and tougher single targets.

The other core Legendary items of this build are Tracker's Rage and Screaming Fury. These two improve Furious Charge with increased damage, two charges, and manual targeting, enhancing the burst potential of the build when used alongside Cleave.

Bestial Threat modifies Demoralize into an immobilizing AoE ability. This item allows you to keep enemies within range of Cleave and Lacerate for longer, improving your overall DPS.

Set Gear Choice

A combination of Issatar Imbued and Feasting Baron's Pack is the preferred secondary gear set for this build. Feasting Baron's Pack directly improves the crowd-control effect of Demoralize, while Issatar Imbued increases your movement speed and damage dealt after each enemy takedown. These two sets together are a great match for quickly clearing out Challenge Rifts and Elder Rifts.

Obtaining The Tyrant and The Gaoler at Hell I difficulty first is recommended as Feasting Baron's Pack offers more immediate benefits than Issatar Imbued.

Legendary Gem Setup

Most Legendary Gems in the build are used to increase the damage potential of Cleave and Furious Charge, with effects such as Everlasting Torment's potent damage-over-time from critical hits and Chained Death improving damage when hitting multiple targets.

Blood-Soaked Jade and Zwenson's Haunting contribute to the build's clear speed by providing extra damage, movement speed, and summoned beasts from enemy kills and loss of control effects.

Blessing of the Worthy is used in the build for extra utility and survivability, providing a strong AoE attack and damage reduction when hit.

Stats and Paragon Priorities

Attribute Priorities

Strength Strength is core to all Barbarian builds as it directly contributes to Damage and Combat Rating.
Vitality Vitality is crucial to the build for staying alive in high-level Challenge Rifts.
Armor Penetration Armor Penetration is prioritized for the build as it improves damage by ignoring enemy armor and increasing Critical Hit Damage..
Critical Hit Chance Critical Hit Chance is particularly important for this build as it improves the chances of increasing the burst damage from Cleave.
Critical Hit Damage Critical Hit Damage works with Critical Hit Chance to improve the burst damage from Cleave.

Paragon Priorities

Vanquisher > Treasure Hunter > Survivor

Prioritize spending points in the Vanquisher tree to get Zeal and Wrath as soon as possible. These two skills increase movement speed and damage dealt, which directly synergizes with Cleave and the rest of the build's kit.

Afterwards, invest some points into Treasure Hunter to get Swift Learner and Gold Find, boosting your Experience and Gold gain as you clear out Rifts and Dungeons.

Lastly, put points into Survivor to get Unyielding and Escape Artist, improving your survivability as a melee class.

How to Play

Move Through Rifts with Sprint

Diablo Immortal - Challenge Rift Sprint

Use Sprint to move past mobs and quickly reach objectives, Elite Mobs, and Rift Guardians. You can also use this ability to retreat if you find yourself taking too much damage.

Initiate Combat with Furious Charge

Diablo Immortal - Initiate with Furious Charge

Once you've closed the distance with your foes, initiate combat with Furious Charge. Due to Screaming Fury, you can precisely aim this ability to knock opponents upwards and keep them in range of your damaging abilities.

Immobilize Foes with Demoralize

Diablo Immortal - Demoralize Cleave Combo

Make your foes even more vulnerable by casting Demoralize after Furious Charge. Bestial Threat modifies this ability to immobilize and lock enemies in place, keeping them even further locked down.

Inflict Burst Damage with Cleave

Diablo Immortal - Furious Charge and Cleave Combo

After inflicting loss-of-control on your opponents with Demoralize, clear them out using your charges of Cleave. Due to Virulent Fist, Cleave causes enemies to explode on death on top of its potent Bleed and powerful initial hit, making it extremely effective against both regular monsters and bosses.

hey is the build still viable ?

The loss-of-control in this build is inflicted by Demoralize and not Furious Charge, so the best way to order skill usage for maximum damage is Furious Charge > Demoralize > Cleave. Regarding low boss damage, having mediocre damage outside of the initial burst is a weakness of the build, but it can still dish out consistent damage against tougher foes with Lacerate and Cleave. We have tweaked the build with a new pair of gems to gain more damage against bosses. We hope this helps!
