Strengths

Strengths
• Deals massive AoE damage that bursts multiple enemies.
• Highly mobile melee class with many gap-closing abilities.
• Has a variety of skills that are good for crowd control.

The Barbarian is a close-combat, highly mobile DPS class with amazing crowd control abilities. Equipped with many gap-closers and crowd control skills, the Barbarian functions like a DPS train that keeps on going.

Whether playing solo or in a group, the Barbarian will be one of the easiest classes to use for newer players with its simple hack-and-slash playstyle and easy-to-learn skills.

Weaknesses

Weaknesses
• Weak to enemies that do not die quickly.
• Damage vs. defense priorities shift as you level up.
• Long cooldowns for many key abilities.

While a strong melee combatant, the Barbarian is only ever effective if they can defeat their enemies quickly. When faced with much more difficult content, a Barbarian will need to play around with defense and cooldowns as most of their damage relies on getting up close and personal with their enemies.

Barbarian Stat Priority

Barbarian Stat Priorities

Barbarian Stat Priority
StrengthFortitude or VitalityWillpower
Strength This is the primary stat of the Barbarian. It gives the highest boost to Damage and Combat Rating when increased.
Fortitude Raises Armor and Armor Penetration. Invest in this stat if you need more damage behind your crits.
Vitality Raises your max Life. To increase your chances of survival, invest in this stat as you approach late-game.
Willpower Raises Potency and Resistance. Since the Barbarian does not have a lot of status effect skills, this is low on the priority list.
Intelligence Worst stat to increase as a Barbarian as it provides the lowest combat rating bonus. Do not waste any points on this stat while leveling this class.

The Barbarian primarily scales with Strength, giving players the most bonuses for both combat rating and damage with each additional point. Pair this with either Fortitude or Vitality if you need more damage or defense, respectively.

Do note that Vitality will be important for late-game PvE and PvP as most enemies will be able to burst you. If you have a considerable amount of damage output already, consider increasing Vitality to maximize your chances of survival.

Barbarian Paragon Point Priorities

As with most classes, it is best to go for more Damage and Life when spending Paragon Points. The Vanquisher tree has a lot of options for both Damage and Life, making it a good early investment if you're still unsure about which tree is best for your build.

As a secondary choice, players can invest in Armor Penetration to deal more damage to the Barbarian's enemies. For survivability, go for increased Armor or Resistance depending on your equipment's bonuses.

How to Play Barbarian

Draws Enemy Aggro in PvE

Diablo Immortal - Barbarian Crowd Control

When facing mobs of enemies in PvE, the Barbarian's primary goal is to draw the attention of enemies. Whether solo or in a group, you will need to take advantage of your strength in AoE damage to defeat your foes.

To draw aggro, use crowd control abilities such as Demoralize or Chained Spear to keep enemies trained on you. This groups enemies up, leaving them vulnerable to follow-up AoE attacks from you or your allies.

Deals Massive AoE Damage

Diablo Immortal - Barbarian AoE DPS

Whirlwind or Hammer of the Ancients will be your main damage dealers when facing off against multiple enemies. Make sure to only unleash these abilities on dense groups of enemies or enemies you've already hit with CCs as they have long cooldown times.

Fast Melee Gap-Closer

Diablo Immortal - Barbarian Gap Closing Skills

To play to the Barbarian's strengths, you will have to keep in constant melee range with your opponents. Use any of the mobility skills available to the Barbarian such as Sprint, Leap, or Furious Charge to either close the gap or get out of sticky situations.

In PvP, these abilities will be essential as the Barbarian will need to be in melee range to deal any sort of damage. Use these mobility skills when facing off against the many ranged classes in Diablo Immortal.
