Strengths

Strengths
• Amazing crowd control abilities.
• Good AoE attacks and damage.
• Very tanky; excels when surrounded by enemies.
• Very good team buffs, making it ideal for group play.

The Crusader is an amazing tank class that does not sacrifice damage and crowd control for survivability. Equipped with powerful AoE attacks, amazing party-wide buffs, and mobility skills that also function as crowd control, the Crusader is a powerhouse when in battle.

Due to how effective the Crusader's skills are in combat, it is easily one of the best hybrid classes that can work solo or in a group. For new players looking for a powerful class that comfortably scales to late-game, look no further than the Crusader.

Weaknesses

Weaknesses
• Gameplay revolves around long skill cooldowns.
• Low single target damage; low damage against bosses.
• Relies on skills due to weak primary attacks.

While the Crusader excels in group play and getting mobbed while solo, its low single-target damage, and long skill cooldowns make the class tedious to pilot when tackling content such as Helliquary bosses. Due to its lackluster primary attacks, the Crusader will feel underwhelming until you get better skills and gear.

Crusader Stat Priority

Crusader Stat Priorities

Crusader Stat Priority
StrengthFortitudeVitalityWillpower
Strength This is the primary stat of the Crusader. It gives the highest boost to Damage and Combat Rating when increased.
Fortitude Raises Armor and Armor Penetration. Invest in this stat early to take advantage of the added damage behind your crits.
Vitality Raises your max Life. As you approach late-game, invest in this stat to increase your survivability.
Willpower Raises Potency and Resistance. While Potency and Resistance are great, these can be offset by Paragon Points later on.
Intelligence Worst stat to increase as a Crusader as it provides the lowest combat rating bonus. Do not waste any points on this stat while leveling this class.

The Crusader primarily scales with Strength, giving players the most bonuses for both combat rating and damage with each additional point. Pair this with either Fortitude for more damage behind your crits, and Vitality to increase your durability during hairy combat encounters.

Do note that while Willpower can be important in some cases, both its Potency and Resistance can be upgraded separately via the Paragon System. Players looking to only increase one of the two can opt to go this route instead.

Crusader Paragon Point Priorities

As with most classes, it is best to go for more Damage and Life when spending Paragon Points. The Vanquisher tree has a lot of options for both Damage and Life, making it a good early investment if you're still unsure about which tree is best for your build.

As a secondary choice, players can invest in Armor Penetration to deal more damage to the Crusader's enemies. For survivability, go for increased Armor or Resistance depending on your equipment's bonuses.

How to Play Crusader

Use Crowd Control Skills to Pull Enemies

Daiblo Immortal - Crusader Crowd Control

The Crusader will have a few enemy-pulling skills that can dictate the opening of a fight. On top of dealing good damage, they also set you and your team up for follow-up AoE attacks on large groups of enemies.

When playing as a Crusader, use skills like Spinning Shield (when tanking) or Draw and Quarter (for mobility) to control the number of enemies around you. Set your team up to chain combos by using CCs in succession.

Deal AoE Damage Using Skills

Daiblo Immortal - Crusader AoE Damage

The strength of the Crusader lies in its arsenal of AoE skills that can be used depending on your role as a solo or within a group. With lots of choices available, the Crusader is one of the few classes that can play multiple roles in PvE.

Judgement and Sacred Chain can be used to set up your allies for follow-up AoE attacks. Condemn and Falling Sword can be used to deal massive AoE damage quickly. Consecration and Shield Glare can be used when tanking for the group. Mix up your playstyle accordingly depending on what you or the group needs.

Provide AoE Buffs When Needed

Daiblo Immortal - Crusader AoE Buffs

Unlike damage-only classes like the Wizard, Crusaders can shift into a team role without any problems. They can provide strong party buffs while still being a good damage dealer and tank during combat encounters.

When adventuring with a group, use Holy Banner to boost your party's damage output. If you find yourself getting mobbed by much more difficult monsters, Conjuration of Light will protect your allies for a certain time.
