Best Barbarian Level 5 Reward

Open Gut or The Gaoler

Gathering the Grace of the Flagellant set is advisable for most Barbarian players, as this provides a damage bonus for attacks that provide continual damage, so go with Open Gut. Equipping Open Gut and another set gear from Grace of the Flagellant will give a 15% boost to damage for attacks like Whirlwind, a core skill for most Barbarian users.

The Gaoler is also a great choice for Cleave/Furious Charge builds, which tend to employ loss of control skills like Screaming Fury's version of Furious Charge and all versions of Demoralize.

Best Wizard Level 5 Reward

Open Gut, The Gaoler, or Mountebank's Bravado

For most PvE builds, Grace of the Flagellant is going to be the best set as it buffs Channeled damage, so go with Open Gut.

For PvP builds, there are two strong contenders: The Gaoler and Mountebank's Bravado.

Completing the Feasting Baron's Pack set scales well with skills that cause loss of control, so The Gaoler is better for players looking for more crowd control, especially in PvP.

Gathering the Untouchable Mountebank set for PvP will aid you in survivability (but only if your build is at a point where it can deal good damage/crowd control already), so Mountebank's Bravado is a viable option if this applies to you.

Best Necromancer Level 5 Reward

Shepherd and Begetter or The Gaoler

The most obvious choice for Necromancer builds is going to be the Shepherd and Begetter, as the 2-piece, 4-piece, and 6-piece bonuses for the Shepherd's Call to Wolves set provide various buffs to summons.

The Gaoler is also a good choice for PvP builds, as many of Necromancer's skills scale well with loss of control buffs.

Best Demon Hunter Level 5 Reward

Open Gut

The best waist item for most Demon Hunter builds, Storm-Tack of Shal’baas, isn't available as a free reward unfortunately. The next-best option for most Demon Hunters is Open Gut, as combining it with another Grace of the Flagellant set item grants a buff to Channel (continuous) damage.

Best Monk Level 5 Reward

The Gaoler

Monks are limited as most of their builds benefit from either Storm-Tack of Shal’baas or Whipcrack, neither or which are available on the free Progidy's Path.

That said, you can make use of The Gaoler in any build that includes Imprisoned Fist, as the Feasting Baron’s Pack 2-piece set item bonus grants a 30% duration increase to loss of control skills.

Best Monk Builds

Best Crusader Level 5 Reward

Open Gut or Exemplar's Urge

Open Gut from the Grace of the Flagellant set has an excellent 2-piece bonus for Crusaders because most of their skills do area of attack (AoE) damage with continuous damage ticks.

Gathering the Vithu's Urges set grants a 2-piece bonus great for builds that focus on Holy Banner and Conjuration of Light duration, so Exemplar's Urge is also a strong option.

How to Access Paragon Level 5 Rewards

Found on the Prodigy's Path in the Shop

Prodigy
Once you reach level 45, you will unlock the Services tab in the shop. On the Services tab, you can find the Prodigy's Path, which offers rewards at certain levels (similar to the Battle Pass). The Adept's Prizes are free for all players, while the Prodigy's Prizes cost money.

To claim your free set waist, you first must reach Paragon level 5. After that, simply select the item under Adept's Prizes and make your choice from one of six secondary set items.

Should I Save My Rewards Until Later?

It's Better to Claim Rewards Later

If you want your equipment to have the highest stats possible, it's better to wait until you've reached level 60 to claim equipment rewards from the Battle Pass and Prodigy's Path as their stats scale with your current level.

Gear Scales with Your Level

Reward Claimed at Level 10 Reward Claimed at Level 60

Weapons and equipment (including free rewards), get gradually stronger as you level up. For comparison, notice the difference in stats for Pavise of Ten Wings at an early level versus at max level. If you care about getting the best stats for your gear, try to hold off on claiming your rewards.
