Shinagawa Story Walkthrough, Bosses, and Item Locations

Shinagawa is the second explorable area of Da'at in Shin Megami Tensei V (SMT 5). Read on for a full walkthrough of Shinagawa including all objectives, all bosses, tips and strategies, decisions in this area, and all obtainable demons, essences, and items!

Objectives

	Objective
1	Save your progress in the newly registered leyline fount
2	Slide down the slope for a cutscene Save the Students main quest will automatically be triggered after the cutscene.
3	Head south first past the fourth pointer and destroy the Abscess of Tennozu A treasure box on the north end of the highway contains Aogami Type-3 essence. ▶ Abscess of Tennozu tips and strategy
4	Register the leyline fount of Tennozu and find the 4 students marked by objective pointers It will be easier to navigate the area now that the Abscess is destroyed. Tao will also heal you at the end of every battle after finding one of the students. ▶ Location of the first four students
5	After completing Save the Students, head to the next objective pointer Save the Students (cont.) main quest will be triggered upon reaching the marked location.
6	Travel southeast then north until you reach the leyline fount of Shinagawa Pier Be sure to save your progress.
7	Enter the Container Yard and make your way to area's leyline fount There are trails of Magatsuhi crystals that will guide you through the maze. Be sure to save your progress at the fount.
8	Approach the marked location and defeat Loup-garou Defeating Loup-garou will complete the main quest Save the Students (cont.). ▶ Loup-garou boss fight guide
9	Drop down and destory the Abscess of Container Yard east of your location South of the container you just came out from is an Angel that will give you the Divine Talisman. ▶ Abscess of Container Yard tips and strategy
10	Head north to the objective pointer, register Konan 3rd Block's leyline fount, and save your progress East of the highway is a treasure box containing Aogami Type-4 essence.
11	Go all the way southwest and destroy the Abscess of Konan 3rd Block ▶ Abscess of Konan 3rd Block tips and strategy
12	Head west and register the leyline fount of Mitatebashi Save your progress and prepare for the boss fight.

Shinagawa General Tips

Destroying the Abscess in Tennozu

Destroying this Abscess will make it easier to navigate the area while finding the students.

2 Jack Frost will appear upon interacting with the Abscess. Use Fire attacks to target their weakness and avoid using Ice attacks as they will just get absorbed.

Location of the First Four Students

1. Under the north end of the highway	2. By a tree north of the leyline fount
3. At the building east of the leyline fount	4. Inside a destroyed building

Finding all four students will complete the main quest Save the Students.

Destroying the Abscess in the Container Yard

The Abscess spawns 2 Feng Huang and 2 Makami. All of them are weak to Dark attacks so bring in your strongest Mudo users to make it an easy battle, especially if you manage to land an instakill.

Destroying the Abscess in Konan 3rd Block

The Abscess only sends out a Basilisk. It is weak to Electric attacks so take your strongest Zio attackers with you. You might also need a healer and a demon with Patra as Basilisk can inflict Poison.

Loup-garou

Tips and Strategy
Weak to Ice and Light Bring Elec Dampeners Increase your Defense with buffs Lower its Attack with debuffs

Loup-garou's specialty is his Physical attacks and high critical rate. Bring demons with skills that can lower his Attack stat as well as demons that can raise your allies' Defense like Xuanwu and Kaya-no-Hime. These demons can also target Loup-garou's weakness with their Ice skills.

You can also bring Oni to and make it use Taunt to tank the boss' attacks.

Use an Elec Dampener when Loup-garou starts gathering Magatsuhi to protect your team from Souffle D'eclair.

Fionn mac Cumhaill

Tips and Strategy
Weak to Electric Bring Fire Dampeners Give Nahobino Physical resistance through essence fusion

Fionn is weak to Electric attacks so bring along demons that can target his weakness, preferably with high skill proficiency, like Mothman and Lilim, as well as some Elec Gems.

When he starts gathering Magatsuhi, use a Fire Dampener to protect your team against Maragion.

Since Fionn mostly uses Physical skills, we recommend fusing Nahobino with Oni essence and inherit its affinities to gain resistance to Physical attacks.
