Note Update from Game8 As of the July 7 Patch, Blizzard has clarified that the explosive effect of Chip of Stoned Flesh can only be activated by total loss of control skills like Stun and Fear. CC skills that cause Slow or Chill will not work.

Base Effect
Each time you cause an enemy total loss of control, you will also apply an explosive curse. When the curse expires, the enemy will explode for damage equal to 45% of all damage taken during its duration, up to a maximum of 150.00% base damage. Cannot occur more often than once every 20 seconds per target.
Rank 3 Effect
Increases all damage you deal to enemies afflicted with explosive curse by 6%.
Rank 5 Effect
Increases chance to find Magic Items by 15%.

Chip only procs off of TOTAL loss of control which is different from loss of control. "Taunt" is not total loss of control, I doubt gather is either depending on how it Gathers. But TOTAL is frozen or stunned completely. So simply taunting mobs should be like slow or chill or knock ups, which don't proc the gem. For some reason taunting does though. Other gather skills I've tested have not worked either.

Using Demoralize (Gather) skill on Barbarian it procs the curse. It's actually extremely powerful because Demoralize has a verryyy long duration. It's pretty OP, don't see many Barbs talking about it. The picture attached shows the skill in use (the exclamation marks) and you can see the mobs turn grey. They'll stay "Stunned" in place like that for about 8 seconds. It's weird because Demoralize by itself just taunts/gathers.
