Celebrate Christmas with Stellar Blade’s Latest Update
Enjoy Stellar Blade with the New Holiday-Themed Outfits
The holiday season is right around the corner, and Shift Up is bringing its festive mood to Xion on December 17. Celebrate the holidays in fashion with new Christmas-themed costumes, decorations, and mini-game.
Eve and other characters will have new holiday-themed outfits adorned with vibrant colors and decorations. The available character outfits are:
⚫︎ Santa Dress (Eve)
⚫︎ Rudolph Pack (Drone)
⚫︎ I’m No Santa (Adam)
Complete Eve’s holiday look by customizing her hair with a Santa Girl hairstyle. Accessories like Snow Crystal Glasses, Wreath Earrings, and Sleigh Ear Cuffs can also be used for Eve.
Xion Refurbished For the Holidays and Features a Mini-Game
Xion, the last surviving human settlement in the world, will also transform into a cozy location filled with warm lights and festive red, green, and white decorations. The Last Gulp, where various citizens of Xion gather, and Eve’s camp will receive the same treatment, spreading the festive spirit throughout Xion and beyond. The camp will also feature the seasonal BGM “Dawn (Winter)” and “Take me away,” creating a relaxing atmosphere and removing the weariness from everyday battles.
Aside from the holiday-themed decorations, the update will bring a new mini-game to Xion. Though there are no details yet about this mode or its prizes, it seems that shooting the target on a hovering holiday-themed drone will earn Eve special rewards.
Turn On or Off Stellar Blade’s Seasonal Contents
The new update also added an option to enable and disable seasonal events, including the Nier:Automata DLC. To do this, head to the game’s Setting and locate Gameplay. In this menu, you can select Seasonal Event Content and change it according to your preferences. The three options available are:
⚫︎ Auto - automatically enable or disable seasonal contents based on the current season
⚫︎ Disable - deactivate seasonal content, regardless of the current season
⚫︎ Enabled - activates seasonal content, regardless of the current season
Players can now enjoy seasonal content whenever they want with this new feature. Keep in mind that the game will restart to its most recent save after changing the Season Event Content option.
Mostly Well-Received, But Not Everyone Is Happy
Following PlayStation's announcement on Twitter (X) last December 16, most fans were thrilled with the new update. Many creatively referred to Eve as “Christmas Eve,” a combination of the most popular part of the holiday season and the protagonist's name. Others also praised Shift Up for releasing regular seasonal updates to the game.
However, some fans also voiced concerns about the update. “I don’t mind at all but why does Stellar Blade have so many event updates? Just doesn’t seem like the type of game,” a fan shared. Others complained that they had to restart the game just to enjoy the seasonal contents released for Stellar Blade.
Most games with seasonal content feature multiplayer modes and highly replayable elements, allowing players to enjoy various cosmetic packs and other rewards for an extended period of time. However, Stellar Blade is a single-player game that can be completed in around 30 hours. Due to its relatively short playtime, players are compelled to restart Stellar Blade to fully explore and enjoy its seasonal content, as they have nothing much to do after finishing the main story.
