Use Health Potions or Food

One of the earliest ways to heal in Avowed is to drink Health Potions or consume Food with Health Regeneration. Of the two, Health Potions are the most effective in combat since it won't have a long delay before healing takes effect. Food, on the other hand, will regenerate HP slowly once you enter combat.

When You're Full of Food You Get Passive Healing

If you manage to overeat, you'll notice an apple icon with a red ring appear to the right of your HP bar. This is your satiety indicator.

When you eat HP regen food and you heal to full without using the entire food's regen amount, then it gets stored away for a rainy day. When you lose HP, the apple icon's ring will slowly drain while it heals you.

Equip Ondra's Touch and Stand In Water

There are two Unique items in Dawnshore that you can get in order to passively regenrate health. However, one of them (the Wayfarer's Boots) is currently bugged so you're stuck with Ondra's Grace for now.

This amazing ring (hidden behind a waterfall) allows you to slowly regenerate health as long as you have the Wet status. No need to overthink this. If you want to save on consumables, simply slap this ring on, stand in water, and watch your HP slowly tick up.

Look For a Heart Icon to See if Ondra's Grace is Working

To check if Ondra's Grace is taking effect, look above your HP bar. If there's a heart icon above it, that means the passive is working. If it doesn't trigger even while in water, consider switching positions (since this does happen sometimes).

Use the Dream Touch Ability to Heal

Dream Touch

Sometime during the main quest, A Message from Afar, you'll be asked to accept the power from a disembodied voice in your head. If you choose to accept the power, you will get the Dream Touch Godlike ability that you can use to Heal yourself and your allies.

Dream Touch has a wide AoE, allowing you to heal or resurrect allies even if they are very far from you. However, its biggest downside is its cooldown. Set to a staggering 90 seconds, make sure you only use this when absolutely necessary, especially in the early game.

Add Giatta to Your Party for Heals

Giatta Healer

Once you reach Emerald Stair and begin the main quest, Ancient Soil, you'll be able to recruit Giatta to your party. This animancer from Fiore mes Iverno is the best companion in the game, simply because her healing abilities are godly.

To make the ultimate healer and buffer loadout for her, get Purification (her Heal), Barrier, and Acceleration - all game changers in a fight especially at higher difficulties.
