Each background in Avowed will use a different starting weapon during the tutorial. Read on to learn about the weapon each background starts with and what other weapons are available in the tutorial.

Each Background in Avowed will start with a different weapon once they wash up on the beach during the tutorial. However, you will get access to most weapon types once you finish the first 2 combat sections of the tutorial.
More weapons will become available to use as you progress through the tutorial island of Avowed. However, you will be forced to fight the first few battles using only your starting weapon, which means the Arcane Scholar background has the most disadvantageous start out of the five backgrounds.
You can get at least one of each weapon type listed below during the tutorial:
Note: The only ones that aren't available to test immediately are the Great Hammer (since it's dropped by the final boss of the tutorial) and the Pistol since it requires you to leave and later kill Ilora during the final boss fight.
