| Spare Captain Aelfyr | Captain Aelfyr lets you pass through the gate to Shatterscarp without fighting you. You will have to fight her later on in the late-game. |
| Kill Captain Aelfyr | Fight Captain Aelfyr and her Steel Garrotes now. You can loot her Death Knight Gloves after killing her. |
During A Path to the Garden, you will encounter Captain Aelfyr at Shatterscarp Gatehouse. You will have an option between sparing her or killing her during this section of the quest.

Kill Aelfyr to Get Death Knight Gloves
Choosing the Attack dialogue options will trigger a boss fight against Captain Aelfyr and is the recommended choice if you want the exclusive loot Death Knight Gloves from looting her body.
Not only that, but it also acts as revenge since she partook on the burning of Fior mes Inverno during the Ancient Soil main quest.
Spare Her if You Don't Want to Fight
If you just want to pass through the gatehouse without fighting, we recommend just sparing Captain Aelfyr. Doing this will not let you get the exclusive loot from her immediately, but you still gain a lot of exp by choosing this option.
Appears in Galawain’s Tusks as an Enemy
If you choose to spare Captain Aelfyr, she will get infected with the Dreamscourge. You will then have to fight her in a boss battle later on in Galawain’s Tusks during the Our Dreams Divide Us Still main quest.
You will be able to obtain the Death Knight Gloves upon defeating her in this battle.
