Avowed has five playable races in the game. Read on for a list of all playable races in the game including info on their starting attribute bonuses and the best race to play for your chosen build.

Aside from the original Human and Elf races, Patch 2.0 introduces 3 new playable races to the game: the Aumaua (same race as Kai), the Dwarf, and the Orlan (same race as Yatzli).
Each of the new races will have their own starting attribute bonuses as well as character customization options when you start a new game.
Best Race to Play
※ Evaluations are based on early game impact since this is when these attribute bonuses play a huge role.
| Race | Preferred Playstyle |
|---|---|
| Human | Humans are best suited for Fighter or Wizard builds since the bonus Might and Resolve are great for surviving the early game on higher difficulties. It also allows you to min-max your Constitution during character creation as needed. |
| Elf | Naturally, with bonuses to Dexterity and Perception, Elves are best suited for Ranger or Wand Mage builds since all you really do during early game is auto-attack. |
| Aumaua | Aumaua are a great choice for one-handed Fighter builds, mostly because the +2 Might means you can freely distribute attribute points from your dump stat to either Constitution or Resolve. |
| Dwarf | Dwarves are the best race to play if you plan to go for a two-handed Fighter build since the bonus Might and Constitution allows you to deal with its early game need for more Resolve. |
| Orlan | Orlan are a great alternative for Ranger or Wand Mage builds, mostly because more Perception means more range, and the bonus Dexterity means you get both faster attack and reload speeds. |
