Avowed What Are Vessels

Vessels are the different skeletal opponents that you will encounter in Avowed. Find out what counts as a Vessel, and what items have Vessel-related enchantments!

What are Vessels?

Skeleton Enemies

Avowed Undead Creatures

Vessels are the many Skeleton enemies you find in the Living Lands. They are normally located in areas like the Grim Wetlands within Emerald Stair, or dungeons that feature undead opponents.

It is interesting to note that Shadows, despite spawning with most Skeleton opponents, are not considered Vessels.

Determined via Damage Calculations Using the Vessel Slaying Enchantment

To determine which enemies in the game are Vessels, the team used an Exceptional Giant's Slumber unique spear (+0) that grants +20% damage against Vessels via its Vessel Slaying enchantment. Damage numbers using normal attacks against Tier 3 enemies were as follows:

Enemy Type Damage (Normal Attack)
Sporelings 107 DMG
Xaurips 107 DMG
Skeletons 129 DMG
%Bonus DMG Calculation
((129 - 107) / 107) x 100 = 20.56%
((129 - Base DMG) / Base DMG) x 100 = %DMG Bonus

GiantGiant's Slumber Type: Spear
Effect: +20% Damage against Vessels.
BerathBerath's Blessed Ward Type: Trinket
Effect: -5% damage from Vessels.
