Sarcophagus Key Location

The Sarcophagus Key is required to open a locked sarcophagus in the Garden level of Avowed. Read on to learn how to get the Sarcophagus Key and the rewards you get for opening the sarcophagus.

The Sarcophagus Key can be looted from a glowing purple Skeleton on a ledge overlooking the Broken Aqueduct of the Garden. You'll find this skeleton on the way to the Strangled Adra in the Garden.

How to Get the Sarcophagus Key

Doorway Guarded by 2 Maegfolc
From the area where you fight 2 Maegfolc, open the locked door by activating 2 nearby Essence Generators. Once open, head inside into an area full of spider webs.

Use Fire to Destroy the Web
Inside, hang a right to see doorway blocked off by a large spider web. Use a Margan's Fury or Kai's Firestarter ability to burn away the obstruction.

Kill All Spiders and Skeletons in the Room
Head inside the room with a large pond and kill all of the spiders and skeletons blocking your way. Then, head over to the doorway leading into a flooded room.

Swim and go through the underwater tunnel. At the fork, go left until you reach small ledge that overlooks an Eye of Rymgrand and an opposite ledge blocked by large branches.

Use Fire to Clear Out the Branches
Again, use a Margan's Fury or Kai's Firestarter to burn away the branches blocking the opposite ledge.

Next, use an Ice Spell or an Eye of Rymgrand to create an ice platform on the water's surface. Use it to reach the now unobstructed ledge opposite yours.

Path to Broken Aqueduct Overlook
Upon arriving at the opposite ledge, clamber up and follow the path until you reach a ledge overlooking the Broken Aqueduct. This is the ledge that leads to the Strangled Adra and the skeleton that has the Sarcophagus Key.

Looting the Sarcophagus Key
Loot the Sarcophagus Key from the skeleton with a glowing purple light.

Open the Door by Activating the Essence Generator
Drop down and open the door in front of the skeleton by activating the Essence Generator next to it (use Shock spells or Giatta's companion ability).

Find the Broken Stairs
Inside this room, go past the frozen Delemgans and hang a left when you see a ruined staircase. Clamber up and follow its path until you arrive back at the Enclosed Grove Camp.

Back to Locked Sarcophagus
From the camp, simply head back through the door with the broken Maegfolc and down the spiral staircase to return to the locked Sarcophagus.

Spiritmender Reward from Locked Sarcophagus
Use the Sarcophagus Key to open the locked Sarcophagus. Inside, you'll be able to loot the Spiritmender light armor.

Opening the locked sarcophagus will reward you with a unique Light Armor called the Spiritmender. When equipped, this unique armor will grant you the following passives:

  • Essence Draining: 2% of your Attack Damage is restored as Essence.
  • Luminous Adra Battery: +100 Maximum Essence.
