Umbral Needle is the best Dagger in Avowed because of its passive healing and damage boost against full health enemies. However, it can only be found in the fourth and last open zone, Galawain's Tusks which means you will likely use Sheathed in Summer for most of your playthrough.

How to Get: Can be obtained during the tutorial or through Merchant Valtur in Claviger's Landing. Players with Arcane Scholar as their background will obtain a dagger when they first spawn into the game. Otherwise, quite a few free Daggers can be found while exploring the start of Dawnshore. |

How to Get: Defeat Octav the Firebrand in the Godless Ruins in Dawnshore Octav the Firebrand is one of Dawnshore's Bounties. You can obtain Sheathed in Summer upon defeating and looting Octav. |

How to Get: Defeat Octav the Firebrand in the Godless Ruins in Dawnshore. Upgrade the weapon to Exceptional in Emerald Stair then Superb in Shatterscarp. You'll have to commit to using this later on since higher tier Adra are always a pain to farm. |

How to Get: Umbral Needle is found in a chest north of Ash Forest, in Galawain's Tusks. Since you already have an upgraded Sheath of Summer, you can head over to the chest containing the Umbral Needle in the Ash Forest to get it as a Superb. |
