For S-tier, The Emperor's Reach and The Last Light of Day stand out due to the former's utility and damage and the latter's ease of access and overall viability for the whole game.
Carnet's Cutlass and Ondra's Offense sit at A-tier due to their raw damage potentials, with Ondra's Offense being slightly better than Meteor Blade due to it being Frost-oriented. Lastly, the default Sword sits at C-tier due to the existence of better standard weapons.

How to Get: Gained as a potential reward from the Dawntreader side quest, either by killing Sargamis or convincing him to sacrifice himself. You can opt to use this Sword for the entirety of the game, provided that you keep leveling it to scale with you, as it is a fairly solid sword to have as early as Dawnshore. |

How to Get: Obtained from defeating Captain Carnet during the Debt of Blood side quest. If you have enough sustain for yourself, you can opt to swap Last Light of Day for Carnet's Cutlass once you can acquire it in Emerald Stair. This sword is entirely DPS-oriented and is an overall damage increase at the cost of Fire damage and safety. |

How to Get: Looted from a corpse in the Ancient Lakebed in Shatterscarp. The Emperor's Reach is considered a slight upgrade and the next-in-line from Carnet's Cutlass. If you once again reach a level where you have enough sustain and damage, this becomes your next main weapon as it provides stun and movement speed. |
