Avowed - Can You Be Evil

Avowed lets players choose dialogue options upon interacting with characters throughout the game. These dialogue choices lead to different actions and outcomes. Learn more if you can make decisions to be evil in Avowed in this guide!

Can You Do an Evil Playthrough?

Yes, If You Choose Low Morality Choices

In Avowed, there will be a variety of dialogue choices to pick from when you're out questing. While the game has no morality or karma system in place, you can technically pick rude answers to incite violent or hostile reactions from NPCs.

Going evil and settling quests this way will have consequences. Sometimes, you'll miss a reward and instead only get the loot of the NPC you killed. Other times, by pressing them for a reward, they'll only give you money instead of an actual unique item reward.

Some Choices will be Morally Ambiguous

During the Main Quest (and in certain Side Quests), you'll have to make some tough decisions that shape how other characters in the world treat the Envoy.

At a glance, you won't be able to tell what is "good" and what is "evil". However, your companions won't be all one-sided when reacting to your decision; some may agree while others may find what you did reprehensible.

Does Being Evil Affect the Ending?

No, But You Can Choose to Get an Evil Ending

Most of the decisions players make during the story (including rude responses and attacking quest NPCs on sight) will not affect the overall ending of Avowed. However, there is a very clear evil ending that players can choose. Without spoiling anything, the choice is very clearly evil, so it is not so hard to find once players reach the final main quest of the game.
