All Elemental Damage Types

Once the enemy accumulates enough Frost, they become vulnerable to physical attacks.
Burn Damage Type: Fire Damage
Once the enemy trigger the Burn debuff, theyll start taking damage over time (DoT).
Shock Damage Type: Electric Damage
Once the enemy gets inflicted with Shock, they will be stunned for a certain duration.
Poison Damage Type: Poison Damage
Once the enemy becomes poisoned, critical damage will be dealt.

Avowed has 4 Elemental Damage types: Freeze, Burn, Shock, and Poison. Each one will inflict a different type of debuff on affected enemies as shown above.

What Does Elemental Damage Do?

Inflicts Status Effects on Enemies

Specific elements cause elemental damage, such as Freeze, Burn, Shock, and Poison. When a certain amount of magical damage is dealt, a special status effect will be inflicted on the enemy.

For example, if an enemy takes enough fire damage, they will be burned, while reaching a damage threshold with frost attacks will freeze the enemy, making them more vulnerable to physical attacks.

How to Deal Elemental Damage

Use Spells to Deal Different Types of Elemental Damage

The easiest way to deal elemental damage is to invest points into the Wizard ability tree. In doing so, you gain spells that inflict elemental damage when cast while also increasing their effects via Wizard passives.

Equip Grimoires to Access Elemental Damage Spells

Players eyeing a more hybrid build than pure Wizard can equip Grimoires in their off-hand to gain access to elemental spells. Due to how this weapon type works, you'll be able to cast some of the most basic elemental spells without needing to invest in the Wizard ability tree.
