Dual Wielding is a mechanic in Avowed that allows players to equip two, one-handed weapons at the same time. Read on to learn more about what Dual Wielding is and how to use it.
List of Contents
Dual wielding weapons is as easy as selecting one weapon for your Main Hand and one weapon for your Off Hand via the Inventory screen. Naturally, this only works for one-handed weapons.
When dual wielding, you don't have to pick weapons of the same type. Any combo is possible so long as you're using one-handed weapons.
Unfortunately, Grimoires are the only weapon in the game that are tagged as Off Hand Weapons. This means, it isn't possible to dual wield Grimoires at any time during your playthrough. However, they can paired with multiple, one-handed weapons like axes, spears, and wands.
Dual Wielding allows players to equip two weapons at a time. Having two weapons allow players to choose weapon combinations that best suit their preference and playstyle.
Melee fighters can equip shields that can help them tank enemy hits. Rangers can have a long-range weapon along with a short-range weapon if they find themselves out of position. Players can also double down on spellcasting and equip a Wand and Grimoire for a wider variety of spells.
When dual-wielding weapons, inputs for attacking remain separate. Players are unable to input attacks from both weapons at the same time. On PC, the controls are left and right click by default, while controller is RT and LT by default.
Having separate attack inputs separate from each other enables players to use certain attacks and combos under the right conditions.
