How to Unlock Forged of Star-Stuff

Forged of Star-Stuff can be unlocked in the Dawnshore region by finding starmetal.

All Starmetal Locations

Godless Altar

You can find a starmetal on the table in Godless Altar. Godless Altar is located to the southeast of the Dawnshore region.

South of Damp Burrow

Go to the south of Damp Burrow and obtain the starmetal sitting on the ground. The Damp Burrow is located in the Emerald Stair region.

Abandoned Mine

You can find a starmetal on the ground just a bit to the northwest of the party camp in Abandoned Mine. Abandoned Mine can be located within the Shatterscarp region.

Ash Forest

Go to the west of Ash Forest to see a starmetal on the ground. Ash Forest is located within the Galawain's Tusk region.

Obtain the Fragment of Starmetal

You can find the Fragment of Starmetal while exploring around near the Southern Embrace in Dawnshore. If you stumble upon the Godless Altar just before reaching the Emerald Stair Gatehouse, you can acquire the Fragment of Starmetal.

Find a Starmetal Smithy

You need to find a starmetal smithy after acquiring the Fragment of Starmetal. The smithy in the Market District might know somebody in the Living Lands who can assist you with using the starmetal, so you can ask them.

After asking Gweneth, she’ll mention that someone in Solace Keep might be able to help you with the starmetal material.

Forge a Weapon

As you advance through the main story quests, you'll eventually gain access to Galawain's Tusks. You will also be able to collect more starmetal as you explore the Living Lands. Talk to Forgemaster Dela and show him the starmetal.

Listen to him as he tells you how rare it is to be able to get to craft using that material, and then he will ask you if you prefer the sword or the arquebus. If you pick the sword, you will obtain the Meteor Blade which is a unique one-handed sword forged from starmetal.

If you pick the arquebus, you will get Moonstrike, a unique two-handed ranged weapon. You will need both in order to complete this quest.

Upgrade the Weapons

Once you already have the starmetal weapons in your inventor, you can ask Forgemaster Dela to refine the current starmetal weapon by using more starmetal.

If you decide to refine the Meteor Blade, you will receive Ondra's Offense and if you refine the Moonstrike, Heavenstrike will be given to you. The starmetal weapon will be replaced each time you choose to refine it.

This side quest will be finished after you have used all four starmetals to obtain and upgrade the unique sword and arquebus.

After completing Forged of Star-Stuff, you get 2 refined starmetal weapons: Ondra's Offense and Heavenstrike, each with improved stats and unique abilities, which make them some of the most powerful weapons in the game.
