Avowed - How to Level Up Companions
Companions in Avowed grow stronger as players level up in Avowed. Find out how companions level up and how to upgrade their abilities in this guide!

How to Level Up Companions

Companions Level Up at Intervals as You Level Up

Companion Abilities

Players naturally obtain ability points as their character levels up. However, companions do not level up at the same time players do. Instead, they level up in intervals, only getting a point to spend at every other player level. At Level 26, you'll have 7 Companion Ability points to spend.

It is important to note that companions do not need to accompany players to gain ability points. Hence, any companions who stay at your Party Camp will still benefit from players leveling up.

Spend Companion Ability Points to Get New Abilities or Upgrades

Marius Abilities
Companions have their first skill or the one on the leftmost unlocked by default. The three other skills require an available ability point specifically for that companion for you to use them. Players will need even more ability points to upgrade unlocked skills.

Keep in mind that ability points are not shared among the companions. This means that an available ability point for one companion cannot be transferred to another companion.

How to Upgrade Companion Abilities

Use Available Companion Ability Points in Your Ledger

Kai Abilities

When an abilitiy point for a companion is available, choose what skill you would like to upgrade, then pick any of the 3 available upgrades for that specific skill. Each skill only has 3 upgrades players can choose from.
