Romance Options and How to Romance
Avowed features a few romance options that you can pursue in-game. Read on for a list of all romanceable characters and learn how to romance each of them in this guide.

In Avowed, Kai and Lodwyn are the only characters you can romance during the main story. Kai will have an actual Romance Ending, while Lodwyn will have dialogue options that hint at a romantic relationship but without an explicitly romantic ending. Marius, Giatta, and Yatzli don't have romance endings.
How to Romance

Kai - Complete Battle Scars Quest then Romance at Party Camp
To romance Kai, you first need to complete his companion quest Battle Scars. It's also important that you talk to Kai throughout the game when he has conversations available at Party Camp. Ask him about his backstory and give him assuring/complimentary answers.
After Battle Scars, talk to Kai at Party Camp, and the dialogue choices that lead towards Kai's romance ending should be as listed below.

Lodwyn - Romantic Dialogue Options
There are a few dialogue options in game where you can tell other characters that you've had a relationship with Inquisitor Lodwyn, whether it's true or not. You can even tell Lodwyn herself about your feelings, but she doesn't have any recollections of a past relationship with you, either way.
- (Message From Afar) If you ask about the Steel Garrote, you can tell Milita Captain Cynric that "We were lovers..." when she asks how you know Lodwyn.
- (An Untimely End) Upon encountering Lodwyn for the first time, you can tell her "It's been a long time." She will ask "Do I know you?" You can tell her that you courted her, but she won't remember.
- (Waterfall Cave) When talking to the two Steel Garrote guards at the entrance, you can tell them that you and Lodwyn "go way back" and he will reply, "We've heard all about your naughty past."
- (Kai Party Camp Interaction) After the above, you can tell Kai that you and Lodwyn "like to keep things... exciting."
- (Giatta Party Camp Interaction) When Giatta asks if your relationship with Lodwyn is true, you can tell her "Before you judge, she has very nice bone structure under the mask." She will be disgusted. You can reply "Actually, she could be very affectionate behind closed doors."
- (Shadows of the Past) During the conversation with Ryngrim and Lodwyn, you can tell Lodwyn "You know me better than anyone." and she will vaguely make reference to remembering your past relationship.
- (Yatzli Party Camp Interaction) When Yatzli asks you if you get along with everyone you meet, you can tell her "Lodwyn and I used to get along quite well, if you catch my meaning." She will ask you a lot of questions afterward.
- (The Siege of Paradis) When confronting Lodwyn for the final boss battle, you can tell her "I still love you, Lodwyn" and she will reply "Then join me in death," which will then lead to the boss battle that would've happened any way if you don't renounce Sapadal.
