That Which Remains can be unlocked in the Shatterscarp region by searching the Aedyran Cleric's corpse in Scaedclef.

| 1 |  To start the quest, travel to Scaedclef, located just east of the Eagle’s Reach Party Camp. Once there, climb the large rock behind the burned-down house and jump down onto the roof. |
| 2 |  Enter the house through the hole in the roof and examine the Aedyran Cleric’s corpse to obtain the Flame-Eaten Diary, which will start the quest. |

| 1 |  Head west to another burned-down house. The front door will be locked. On the right side of the house, you'll find a breakable gate leading to a cave tunnel. You can destroy it by throwing an Eye of Rymrgand or using a Freeze-based spell or weapon. |

| 2 |  Proceed through the cave tunnel until you reach the inside of the house. Get the Research House Key near the door. Upon obtaining the key, enemies will spawn outside the house, so be prepared to fight them. |
| 3 |  Head south and use the Research House Key to get inside the Laboratory. Grab the Well Key from the table. |

| 1 |  In front of the first house you visited, you'll find a locked well. Use the Well Key to unlock it and enter Scaedclef Grotto. |
| 2 |  Make your way through the grotto until you reach an area with purple crystals. Defeat the Spiderlings before proceeding. |
| 3 |  There is a breakable wall between the spider webs. You can destroy it by throwing explosives like a Grenade at it. |
| * |  Alternatively, take the side path on the left. At the end, you'll find a small hole where you can spot a red barrel next to the breakable wall. Shoot a projectile at the barrel to blow up the wall. |
| 4 |  Enter the newly opened passage to find Dreamthralls trapped in cages. Climb the ledge behind the cages and follow the path ahead until you reach three survivors. |
Talk to the survivors, and they'll explain why they're keeping the Dreamthralls captive. You’ll then have three choices to complete the quest:
| Option 1 | If you choose "Got it. I'll go kill the Dreamthralls," return to the cages and eliminate them. |

If you choose "I'll ask Wymgar for better provisions," you will have to go to Eagle's Reach and speak with Captain Wymgar. This is the preferable option if you want to finish the quest faster, as killing the Dreamthralls isn’t worth much XP. |
| Option 3 | If you choose the [Attack] option, kill Fewen and the quest ends immediately from there. |
If you chose Option 1 or Option 2, exit the grotto through the tunnel on the left, then head to Eagle’s Reach and speak with Captain Wymgar. Regardless of your decision about the caged Dreamthralls, you’ll receive 900 Coins for completing the quest.
Speaking to Captain Wymgar at the end of That Which Remains will reward you with 900 Coins. However, if you chose to kill Fewen, you will receive only XP for completing the quest.
No, you skip having to talk to Wyngar and just end the quest there. You don't get any money though.

I just did that and you do get 900 gold, but are locked out from killing the dreamthralls.
