Destroy Naku Kubel over severing the Adra in Avowed to get more favorable endings and the Scion of the Immortal Land ability. Read on to see what happens as a result of each choice and all of the abilities you can obtain!

Destroy the Ruins or Sever the Adra Outcomes

Choice	Result
Destroy the Ruins	Naku Kubel will be destroyed and the Dreamthralls inside. If you previously accepted Sapadal’s offer, you will receive the Scion of the Immortal Land ability.
Sever the Adra	Ryngrim severs the Adra from the Dreamscourge but at the cost of innocent lives. If you previously accepted Sapadal’s offer, you will receive the Severed Branch ability.

At the end of the Shadows of the Past main quest, you must choose whether to destroy Naku Kubel or sever the Adra from the Dreamscourge.

To maximize the benefits of this decision, you must have accepted Sapadal's offer during the Ancient Soil main quest. Otherwise, you will only receive Godlike’s Will, which is inferior to the other abilities you could obtain.

Destroying the Ruins Gives You the Better Ability and Endings

While a devastating choice, destroying Naku Kubel rewards you with the Scion of the Immortal Land ability, which increases your damage and provides Health regeneration for 12 seconds.

Choosing to destroy the ruins also results in slightly better ending possibilities compared to severing the adra.

Severing the Adra is the Pragmatic Approach

Narratively, severing the Adra is a practical decision, allowing you to stay in favor with Ryngrim and Yatzli. You will also receive the Severed Branch ability, which boosts Move Speed for 20 seconds.

This also allows you to be able to revisit Naku Kubel. This area spawns enemies infinitely, allowing you to farm XP from it. However, this is a very slow method with a tendency to lower your framerate, so it’s not such a bad thing to lose if you choose to destroy it.

Severing the adra usually results in less happy endings compared to destroying the ruins.

The endings related to this choice are mostly bittersweet without a clear happy ending. The best one out of all of them (or the least worst) might have to be choosing to destroy the ruins and then choosing to fight for a united living lands towards the end of the final main quest.

This choice prevents innocent lives from being sacrified and also allows the people of Shatterscarp to be free. Unfortunately, they will have to deal with the remaining Dreamthralls, but they will not have to deal with hidden threats such as a possible backstabbing empire. Once they manage to wipe out the Dreamthralls, they should be able to live peacefully.
