For those wanting to play an open-world RPG and thinking that Avowed might scratch that itch, it is unfortunate to report that Avowed will not be an open-world RPG.
However, the map will still be fairly large which will be filled with quests, NPCs, enemies, fast travel points and locales.
The map of Avowed will be broken up into five large regions/zones (namely, Dawnshore, Emerald Stair, Galawain's Tusks, The Garden, and Shatterscarp) instead of it being a full open-world. This means that there will be loading screens when going from one zone to another.
Avowed will be similar to Obsidian Entertainment's other title, The Outer Worlds where it is also comprised of multiple large zones where you can find quests, talk to NPCs, fight monsters and many more contents that is yet to be discovered.
