To start the quest, speak to Private Nauki, who is hanging at a camp in Deadfall Highlands, just northeast of the Deadfall Highlands Party Camp. He will ask you to recover the badges of his fallen comrades.
You can collect the badges in any order, but we recommend starting with Kiri’s Badge for a smoother path through Leviathan's Hollow.
# | Step-by-step Walkthrough |
---|---|
1 | ![]() Head west from Nauki’s location to Leviathan's Hollow. Upon reaching the large shark skull, prepare to fight the Xaurips in the area. Leviathan's Hollow is a major Xaurip stronghold, so make sure you’re stocked up on healing items and consumables, as you'll be fighting a lot throughout this quest. |
2 | ![]() After clearing the enemies, move toward the shark skull’s mouth and dive into the water. Swim forward until you surface inside a cavern. |
3 | ![]() Follow the path ahead to reach higher ground, where another group of Xaurips awaits. Defeat them and you'll find Kiri's corpse in the center of the area. Inspect the body to obtain Kiri’s Badge. |
Just behind Kiri’s corpse, climb up the ledges and take the stairs to the left. Enter the small passage and you'll find yourself in a cave with glowing mushrooms. Inspect Manu’s corpse in the center to obtain Manu’s Badge.
# | Step-by-step Walkthrough |
---|---|
1 | ![]() Continue forward through the cave, climb outside, and turn left past the rocks to see the Thirdborn camp. Eliminate the Xaurips in the area. |
2 | ![]() Follow the trail of blood leading to Captain Ruiki's corpse by the cliff. Inspect the body to obtain Captain Ruiki's Badge. |
# | Step-by-step Walkthrough |
---|---|
1 | ![]() From where you exited the cave, turn right, head down the slope next to the bridge, and prepare to face another group of Xaurips! |
2 | ![]() Make your way uphill and climb to the summit of the stronghold, where another Xaurip camp awaits. Between the tents, you'll find Sergeant Hasui, wounded but still alive. Defeat the Xaurips surrounding him. |
3 | ![]() Once the area is clear, talk to Sergeant Hasui. He'll reveal that Nauki abandoned them, blaming him for the massacre. Before asking you to leave him to die in peace, he hands over Sergeant Hasui's Badge. |
With all four badges recovered, return to Nauki. If you choose the dialogue option, “I found your squad's badges. Reward, please,” you will simply hand over the badges, and he will reward you with 900 Coins, completing the quest. If you're not interested in questioning Nauki, you can just take this route and move on.
Choices | |
---|---|
Forgive Nauki | Attack Nauki |
However, if you choose, “I met your friend Sergeant Hasui in the cave, and he had quite a bit to say,” you can confront Nauki about his desertion and decide whether to forgive him or attack him.
At the end of your conversation with Nauki, choose “I think you had a real reason to fear and did what you could do” and he will thank you for understanding. He takes the badges and you'll receive 900 Coins, completing the quest.
# | Step-by-step Walkthrough |
---|---|
1 | ![]() At the end of your conversation with Nauiki, choose “I think you're just a coward looking for an excuse” and this will enrage him, causing him to attack you. Defeat him, then loot Nauki's Badge from his corpse. |
2 | ![]() After killing Nauki, head to Thirdborn and speak to Temertri at Fleetmaster's Perch, located south of the settlement. She will take the badges and the quest will be complete. |
Handing over the badges to Nauki rewards you with 900 Coins. However, if you kill him and give the badges to Temertri instead, you will only receive XP for completing the quest.
