Avowed - What is a Special Attack

Special Attacks in Avowed are automatically triggered upon attacking an enemy with a full Stun bar. Learn more about how to do Special Attacks with this guide!

What is a Special Attack?

An Attack Animation Against Fully Stunned Enemies

Upon attacking an enemy, a yellow bar will fill up below their Health Bar. This is their Stun Meter, and attacking an enemy with a full Stun Meter will automatically trigger a Special Attack.

All weapons except Grimoires have a unique Special Attack animation that deals massive damage.

Increase Stun to Get More Special Attack Opportunities

Increasing Stun

The Stun you deal can be increased through specific Abilities and Weapons. Increasing Stun means each attack you do raises enemy Stun Meters more, requiring fewer attacks overall to trigger Special Attacks.
