How to Unlock Cabin Fever

Cabin Fever can be unlocked in the Dawnshore region by talking to Dehengen in Claviger's Landing. She can be found near a pillar, asking help from another person.

Cabin Fever Walkthrough

Talk to Dehengen to Start the Quest

To start Cabin Fever, talk to Dehengen. Xaurips have taken over her house, and she needs someone to drive them out. Offer to help her, and she’ll give you Dehengen’s Key.

Find Dehengen’s Cabin

Head northwest to find Dehengen’s cabin. It’s located past a staircase in the Fractured Shore area, to the very west of Dawnshore's map.

You’ll know you’re near her house once you see a group of xaurips. These are hostile, so get ready to fight.

Defeat the Xaurips in Dehengen’s Cottage

After you clear the xaurips outside Dehengen’s house, you’ll need to fight more inside. There are a few ways you can get into Dehengen’s cottage.

The easiest way is through the front door, which you can use Dehengen’s Key to open. Beside the door is a cracked wall, which you can break open using an explosive. Another entrance can be found at the back, through an opening blocked by destructible boxes.

Enter the house through any entrance, and defeat the two xaurips within.

Examine the Painting

Once you defeat the xaurips, examine the wall painting of the elf and xaurip. Then, go to the back room and pick up the journal page on the table that mentions Dehengen’s dreams with a xaurip.

Ask Dehengen About Your Findings

Return to Dehengen at Claviger’s Landing. Talk to her and ask about either the painting or the journal entry that you found.

She’ll tell you how she only has half of her soul and that the other halfl is in a xaurip. There’s nothing you can really do to help with her problem at the moment, but this conversation marks the end of this side quest.

Vindictive Band

Once you complete Cabin Fever, Dehengen will reward you with a Vindictive Band, a unique accessory that enables Critical Hits to deal Poison DMG to enemies!
