Should You Report the Refugees?
Help Leoflaed and Glaedwine flee to Thirdborn without reporting them to get more rewards in Avowed. Read on to learn if it's better to help the refugees or to report them to the authorities through Captain Aelfyr.

When you have reached the Southern Paradis during the main quest, you will encounter Leoflaed and Glaedwine, the couple who want to flee to Thirdborn. When you help them gather the supplies, they will talk about their past story and why they want to run away. You can choose to confront the smugglers and help them flee or report them to Captain Aelfyr.
Should You Report the Refugees?
No, Do Not Report the Refugees
Captain Aelfyr will thank you for your service if you choose to report the refugees, but you will only receive experience points because the side quest will end right away.
Since there is no benefit in notifying the empire about the poor refugees, your companions will also oppose this idea. Choosing to side with Captain Aelfyr in this side quest may also affect the story later.
Rewards from Leoflaed and Gladwine
The couple will generously reward you for helping them leave for Thirdborn by confronting the smugglers, so you will receive a greater reward for your decision.
The following materials, which can help during the early game, will be provided as your reward by Leoflaed and Glaedwine: 10x Softwood Branch, 10x Pelt, 2x Paradisan Ladder, and 10x Iron Chunk. There is also a possibility that later in the game, the story could evolve based on your decision to help the refugees in this side quest.
Encounter at Shatterscarp
As you progress through the main story quests, you will come across the couple again in Shatterscarp after you helped them flee to Thirdborn.
Additionally, they will give you the Gambeson of the Grand Empire, a unique armor that you can equip, as a token of their appreciation for your help.
