Food Theft Quest Info | |
---|---|
Quest Type | Side Quest |
Starting Location | Maxim's Claim, Emerald Stair |
Quest Giver | Sielo Piannini |
Mission Description | |
Sielo, one of Fior's many struggling farmers, had his last harvest stolen. He blames "bandits" for the theft. Track the culprits down and retrieve the ill-gotten crops. |
Food Theft can be unlocked in the Emerald Stair region by talking to Sielo Piannini in Maxim's Claim.
If you decide to do this quest after the events of Ancient Soil, Sielo may be found instead at the camp located at the Abandoned Farms. He should be standing near a tent outside the south building.
Take note that the quest marker may not display properly on the map in this instance, but Food Theft should still be available to do.
List of Objectives | ||
---|---|---|
1 | Speak to Sielo | |
2 | Head to the Riverside Cave | |
3 | Retrieve the Stolen Crops | |
Option 1 | Option 2 | |
Let Rebels Keep Stolen Crops | Retrieve Stolen Crops for Sielo | |
4 | Return to Sielo |
Talk to Sielo in a small farm in Maxim's Claim, just north of Farmer's Market. He will ask for your help in retrieving stolen crops from Paradisian Rebels hiding in Riverside Cave.
For the best possible outcome in this quest, choose the correct dialogue choices when speaking with Sielo. This will prompt him to reveal that his wife is sick and in need of medicine, which will be useful information later in the quest. Note that failing to take this path may lock you out of certain rewards.
# | Correct Dialogue Choices |
---|---|
1 | Why don't you tell me what you lost instead of insulting me? |
2 | Is something else wrong at this farm? |
3 | You said "her last harvest," not "ours." Is something wrong with your wife? |
4 | If I can help, I'd like to. |
5 | Of course not. Now I really have to find the stolen food. |
Head northwest of Fior mes Iverno and follow the river until you reach the Riverside Cave . Use the stone platforms to jump across the river and enter the cave.
Inside, proceed forward until you're stopped by Iglaf. Your conversation with him will vary depending on how you handled Ygwulf during An Untimely End.
Continue deeper into the cave and speak with Erlinn. From here, you can negotiate how to resolve the situation regarding the stolen crops:
Choices | |
---|---|
Let Rebels Keep Stolen Crops | Retrieve Stolen Crops for Sielo |
There are two ways to let the Paradisian Rebels keep the stolen crops, but Option 2 is the best choice. This option instantly rewards you 350 Coins from the rebels and gives you the opportunity to earn more from Sielo later on.
Option 1 | Choose the dialogue option "You don't need to convince me. Keep the food." This will let them keep the supplies, and you’ll receive 350 Coins as a reward. |
---|---|
Option 2 | ![]() If you learned about Sielo's sick wife earlier, you can mention it to Erlinn and ask for medicine instead. The rebels will keep the food but provide you with Medical Supplies and 350 Coins in return. |
Option 1 | ![]() Option 1: Choose the [Attack] dialogue option to kill Erlinn and take the food behind her. Be prepared for a fight, as you’ll have to battle your way out of the cave. |
---|---|
Option 2 | If you spared Ygwulf during An Untimely End, you can convince Erlinn to willingly return the stolen food as a favor for saving their leader. ▶︎ Should You Kill Ygwulf? |
Regardless of your choice, return to Sielo to finish the quest.
If you let the rebels keep the food, Sielo will be furious and won’t reward you, but you’ll still gain XP for your efforts.
If you retrieved the food, Sielo will be pleased, and you can choose between 350 Coins or the Forager’s Friend as a reward. If you negotiated for Medical Supplies instead, Sielo will be upset about the lost crops but will offer you the same rewards for helping his wife.
If you let the Paradisian Rebels keep the stolen crops, you will receive 350 Coins. If you retrieve the food or the medicine and return it to Sielo, you can choose between 350 Coins or Forager’s Friend, a Unique Ring.
To maximize your rewards, let the Paradisian Rebels keep the food in exchange for Medical Supplies to receive 350 Coins. When you return to Sielo, you will then have the option to collect another 350 Coins or choose the Forager’s Friend.
If you're looking to farm Coins, choosing the 350 Coins as a reward may be the better option. While Forager’s Friend is a Unique accessory, it isn't particularly useful, and there are better rings available in the game. Only select Forager’s Friend if you're aiming to collect all Unique items.
