It is recommended to turn on the Auto-Navigation function by pressing ZL + Y to progress quests easier. Doing so will create a red trail that shows you the shortest route that you can follow to reach your next objective.
If you have multiple active quests, you can switch between them to select which quest to track. Having the Auto-Navigation on while switching quests will also change the route, making it easier to juggle tasks and focus on one quest at a time.
There are four types of enemies in the game: Normal, Elite, Unique, and Lucky. Defeating Elite monsters or higher increases the amount of EXP, CP, and Gold rewards after the battle so keep an eye on these enemies and take them out, unless you're severely underleveled.
Additionally, Unique enemies will spawn gravestones upon defeating them which you can interact with if you want a rematch.
List of Enemy Types and Effects
After finding your first Rest Spot, you will be able to train your characters and level them up using bonus EXP. This allows you to easily obtain the EXP you need to level up and increase your stats, which makes battles more manageable.
If you need to travel great distances to reach your objective, you can toggle the Auto-Run function by pressing L3. This is useful if you're planning to ignore all the enemies along the way and just focus on getting to your destination.
