When you find monsters fighting in the field, proceed to their area and choose to support a side that can reward Nopon Coins. This cannot be utilized repeatedly but it's a reliable source of Nopon Coins.
During your adventure, you'll find several containers which can be opened to obtain several items and collectibles. This is one of the most common ways to obtain Nopon Coins so make sure to hunt these containers when you see one in the overworld or your mini map!
Defeating Unique Monsters for the first time will yield more rewards than just fighting them again. These bonus rewars often include Nopon Coins so if you find a Unique Monster that you're confident that you can take down, immediately prepare for battle!
All Unique Monster Locations
Once you reach the item cap of 99, the next Nopon Coins you get will be auto-sold for gold. This is not an ok scenario as Nopon Coins cannot be farmed reliably so make sure to spend those Nopon Coins when you hit the item limit!

Once you clear the Milio Trick Caverns in the Fornis Region, you'll unlock the Nopon Coin X-Change merchant. You can buy items here using both Silver and Gold Nopon Coins and the items they sell are all Legendary accessories that are not easy to find so make sure to drop by and purchase some accessories instead of possibly wasting Nopon Coins and turning them to gold!

If you can't find a certain item required from a Collectopaedia quest, you can complete the quest immediately by spending silver Nopon Coins! This can save you from hours of searching for an item in Xenoblade's huge world.
Nopon Coins are a quick and easy way to cook food if ingredients are currently insufficient. Players will be able to cook meals at Rest Spots with Manana which can be accomplished by either selecting Cook with ingredients or Spend coins to cook.
In addition to cooking meals, players have the option of using Nopon Coins for Gem Crafting. The options to accomplish Gem Crafting are Craft with coins or Craft with materials giving players the option with enough Nopon Coins a quick and easier way to craft.
It is indeed possible to Farm Nopon coins at least of the sliver verity that I have found so far. In the very back of the starting area after the first opening scene (Level 40+ area) around 50% of the time there is a black squirrel monster that drops silver nopon coins and give over 700-1k EXP and decent CP as well. To low of health to chain attack but good to farm for coins, exp and CP
